GMail marking legit emails as spam

GMail does not like my server. It marks about half the messages I send from it as spam. Does this happen to anyone else?

May be you should try to send them via POP/SMTP feature within Gmail. That way it might not end up in spam as it will be sent through Gmail itself.

I get that from some legit hosts here. Its very annoying as Google loves marking invoices as spam ... <.<

What google also needs is a REAL delete forever button for spam. Right now, it only deletes one page at at a time, and when one gets 100s of spam a day, it can take forever to delete.

Have you tried running your IPs through the mxtoolbox blacklist checker? My guess is that you were given IPs that someone had been spamming with in the past.

If you find out that your IPs are blacklisted open a ticket with your hosting company, it will be their responsibility to get the blacklist lifted, they may just opt to give you a clean block.

This happens to me all the time, I can't figure out why.. I have the appropriate SPF records, DKIM signed email, not on any IP blacklists, dedicated SMTP server and more.. and yet, high catch rates for my email on Gmail and Google Apps

There's a link on the top of your Spam folder that says "Delete all spam messages now".

For reasons like this, I've started outsourcing my email sending to services like SendGrid.

Out of curiosity, what's the rough cost on that for you? (if I may ask)
