    Welcome to the forums!

What type of content are you hosting on your VPS that it's being targeted so much?

Are you hosting one of those so called "Habbo Emulators" if so these are illegal and copyright protected. I'm completely aware of what your talking about because I had a client who was under a DDOS for hosting the same thing, and of course once I found out he was hosting this I suspended the account promptly.

DDOS Protection costs lots, and depending on the size of the attack the price will only get steeper. Since your probably hosting something that is illegal you probably aren't making any sort of profit off of this, and probably can't afford DDOS protection.

That would be called an emulator, I'm afraid your not going to find much help hosting this. They are illegal. You can't argue that.
A knockoff/takeoff same difference. It's still illegal, and since you need a vps your obviously hosting an emulator which windows is required to host them.

You do not get what I am saying, It is a takeoff the concept not the design or images.

Than what exactly are you hosting? I'm curious to get to the bottom of what your trying to get setup. Under normal circumstances a Windows VPS would not be required if your just hosting a website.

Anyways you asked for a DDOS protected Windows VPS, what's your budget?

most servers wont have built in ddos protection youll likley get moved from the network. You'll need a specialist on this one

Well, there's a way to protect your existing VPS, no need to change hosting.

Have you tried anything like CSF? Not sure if it works on Windows VPSs, but CSF always helped me.

DDoS Protected services (that will filter any kind of ddos) is impossible. I personally know this because we actually are looking into more kinds of protection and we already offer server/network side ciscoguard ddos protection on all nodes and clients also with our own setup to monitor activity and our own setup's to block/filter and null route the attack.

It has worked pretty good, But if you want specialized ddos protection, you need to find a provider and provide them logs of your current hits and that will allow you to be hosted on there network and say they are able to filter that much of the attack with it not being able to effect the network or other clients.

We currently work with some of it, but if it becomes way to big and uncontrollable and is getting close to bothering the main network or the node it self causing problems (but before this even could happen) our systems and network admins are already on-top of it and blocking it out.

You can check out servebyte.com though, They are a stable provider and are decent priced but I'm not sure if you are getting hit alot that the provider will keep you there, as a repeated DDoS is bad for the rep, and network of the company.

Actually, FusionNET... it IS possible. Im using a company that protects both my gameservers, and my webserver. I used to have DDoS almost every day and now - even if they try to ddos my servers - they arent able to do anything.

The only DDoS protection we've found that works is have a 10Gbit port and watch for floods. Typically, you won't have slowdowns or bottlenecks unless someone floods 8Gbps+ which is something I haven't seen that often. We use SonicWall on our network but it does little to nothing in terms of taking care of any attacks - everything has to be manually mitigated.

DDoS is huge on every market. Your attacks might not be as big, or there is a different method. We are on a very solid network, and I'm not saying every ddos brings down our network, or causes problem's we do have our own methods but they are not automated they are monitored by our network techs that watch over the activity to then fitler, black hole, manage the attack to prevent it effecting nodes, other clients, or containers or the victim the best we can.

If your provider has found this protection, to them! I do wish I knew what it was if it's able to block DDoS attacks without null routing, and being automated and able to stop big floods unnoticeable as you stated..

Onepamopa, if you've dealt with large scale DDoS attacks regularly on an entire datacenter operation you would realize that hardware is no match against real attacks. The only way to beat them is to be more powerful, in terms of network capacity.

    I beg to differ, sir.

The question is normally whether someone is willing to pay the cost for the amount of filtering if it's a large attack.

You are correct that buying an appliance which will filter every type of attack is impossible at this time. However, services are available.
