Agreed. For the first time I am doing the exhibit / drink pass only. Also a few of our clients are doing the same thing. Waited a long time for the sessions to be introduced and so have noticed a little better set of speakers from years past, but will wait until the reviews of this year to see if we will attend the sessions next year. Hopefully based upon the reviews of "this" year the conference coordinators can yank out the sessions that are too sales-pitchy.
In regards to discounts for multiple employees I totally agree. If not for a small discount (for multiple employees) at least make it easier for multiple people to sign up. I had a client that wanted to take 10 employees. After filling out the forms 4 times (and the credit card starting to flag the charges since they were all the same amount) they stopped right there. The first 4 are the lucky 4 to go. :-)
For a conference.. you will need businesses to be successful.
So make it easier for a business to sign up a group of people. Also businesses "love" discounts. They will sign up group of 10 people just because there is a 10% discount, but will probably only have 5 people attend! So in the end Hostingcon will make out..... I'm just surprised HostingCon has not done this yet...

Bill,
I am doing exactly the same. Exhibit hall only for the first time at any conference. If feedback from sessions is good, I will reconsider for next year.
On the discount note... the actual dollar value might be quite small, but we'd be happy to feel that we got a good deal.

Last year was really mixed for us. We did get some info out the sessions, but it was really sales "pitchy". I think more contacts were made and more info came from the exhibits and general chit-chat than anything else. I also encountered the "I'm above you" tone from a few other companies/people. Don't worry, I wont forget who you are..
Anyway, I personally took my time and visited each booth and introduced myself and saw what the vendor was promoting. Great fun, but it only took less than one afternoon to do it.
In the end, we may just wait until next year, because going every year may be a waste.

We'll have a WHT discount to use with Early Bird pricing, but not with the Super-Early Bird rates that are effective now through December 31. The best rates are Super-Early Bird, so book now! We hope to see you in Austin.

WHT members can use the coupon code WebHostingTalk2010 when registering for HostingCon 2010 and receive $60 off the price of a Full Conference w/Lunch registration.
The code is also good on other types of registration:
Full Conference w/o Lunch - $40 off
Any Single Day Registration - $30 off
Exhibits Only and Exhibits Only with Lunch - $10 off

Hello,
The coupon WebHostingTalk2010 is not working for me. Is there a new coupon code for us late registers?
