Lightbulb !!! Check if your clients can know your provider !!!

Log in to cPanel --> Email Accounts --> Configure Mail Client --> Incoming/Outgoing Mail Server:[SSL] --> Your provider Name

Every good reseller hosting provider will have unbranded servers for their reseller accounts.

So still that is not the way someone could find your upstream host.

You can check the unbranded servers by finding the rDNS of the nameservers IPs and shared IP, in the most cases it will be returned the provider name ...

In the most cases the IP will point to the hosts datacenter if you have dedicated ip.
I agree the upstream host can be found easily, but in most of the cases, not from going to email accounts.

Yes, if you have dedicated IPs, in the most cases the IP will point to the datacenter.

If you are using the provider white label nameservers, in the most cases the IP will point to the provider.

Why does it matter??? If your client wants to go through the trouble of finding out ... They will whether you take steps to prevent it or not.

People are just trying to find a way to be completely anonymous which is impossible with reseller hosting. And like you said, you can't stop them from finding out if they are really into it and most people wouldn't bother.

eh...you can't stop people from posting these threads either

I've had a few clients ask us who we buy our hosting from, and I have always told them. None have contacted the company. I think they're just curious - mainly to know who is ultimately looking after their websites and data.

If you have a dedicated IP and SSL installed on it, then this will cover by the cpanel himself. If this matters a lot to you, you can definitely try this solution

I have already informed how to hide it, you need to install SSL on the main reseller domain.

Yes, assigning dedicated IP's to your nameservers will give you more anonimity. An IP trace will point to your data center.

You will always find the provider of a provider.
Whether it's nameservers, rdns settings, email settings, WHOIS IP every provider has a provider, why go through the trouble of tracing who your supplier's supplier is?

    Who cares!

I don't ask the corner store where he buys his stock, so why would you say where you buy your hosting?

As long as you are providing a reliable and honest service, that's all that matters.
