How far do you drive to save on gasoline?
How far are you willing to drive to save on gasoline?
I will personally drive up to another 1/2 mile to a different gas station to save 5 cents per gallon on gas.

I live in a little town that is only about 5 square miles, we have 4 gas stations that are always all the same price so just depends where at in town I am. Although if I going to the next town for a bigger store (i.e. something besides Walmart) I try to wait because gas is always cheaper there.

We are Kroger shoppers and they have rewards for customers. My girlfriend takes the cars down to her work (about 15 miles away, the Kroger gas station is down there). We usually have enough rewards saved up to get $0.55 off per gallon at least 4 times per month. With me working from home, it sure saves us a lot on gas.

I fill up once every three weeks. It's not worth it for me to pretend to be concerned about gas prices.

I typically drive 1/4 of a mile to a gas station right next to the school I commute to. They're typically 20cents cheaper than the gas stations near home.

Very good point. I'm at college now, so I don't drive anywhere at the moment. However, when I did I would just fill up at my favorite and most convenient spots.. it didn't really make sense at the time to worry about paying an extra 5-10cents (and it still doesn't). The money saved doesn't equal the time spent searching & the extra gas wasted driving for a better deal.

A friend of mine had his car converted to LPG (liquified petroleum gas) and has to travel 5-10 miles to find a petrol station that does LPG, at half the price of petrol it's worth it though.

Hmm, possibly. If the total cost on the vehicle is 20 cents to drive that 1/2 mile, leaving a $0.65 remainder, and if it takes me one minute to drive the 1/2 mile, then I still end up being essentially "paid" $39 hourly to fill up at a different station.
Yep, I might do it.
