hostlatch setup time and refund request
I signed up for a vps paid and then the site went down How nice. Contacted Adam on AIM. He said I would have to wait 24 hours before the VPS was setup. Then I told him while the hour I was waiting for the site to come back up and/or to get an email from them I had already signed up with another company. Then he said I would Have to wait 24 hours for a refund. And then A couple hours for the VPS to be set up.
I said Again I do not need a VPS from you I just want my money back.
Convo Below
DeathstarrIB (4:34:07 PM): Hey

hlrepadam (4:37:10 PM): Yes we are moving our site to another server
DeathstarrIB (4:37:21 PM): I would like my money back.
hlrepadam (4:37:23 PM): This doesnt affect customers.
hlrepadam (4:37:34 PM): You need to wait 24 hours for server setup
DeathstarrIB (4:37:46 PM): http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/hostlatch.net/

hlrepadam (4:38:07 PM): But your vps can take up to 24 hours to activate
hlrepadam (4:38:13 PM): Has it been past 24 hours? IF so I'd be glad to refund
DeathstarrIB (4:38:54 PM): I do not wish to wait 24 hours, I already have another VPS from another host, setup so I can login, I want my $15 back.
hlrepadam (4:39:05 PM): Actually not 24 hours, you only have to wait a couple hours.
DeathstarrIB (4:39:34 PM): Listen up, I dont need it anymore, and would like you to refund my money.
DeathstarrIB (4:40:51 PM): May I have a refund
hlrepadam is offline (4:56:55 PM)
Your IM will be delivered when the buddy goes online.
Oh ya Adam you was just busted. I have filed a Dispute with Paypal in for my money. I plan to get my money back.
From another Review I read, While your reading this Adam, I am not defacing your company, but you are when you do stuff like that and suck people in looking for cheap VPS, Quit being a scammer.
UPDATE: I got my refundLast edited by VPSGuys; 09-24-2009 at 06:02 PM.

Fraud.
http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/hostlatch.net/ claims that it is online.
And your payment was fraud therefore you were refunded (we received a paypal/bank unauthorized claim)
His order IP address seemed to have come from a fake IP.
Also we are not scammers, you didn't even allow 1 hour for server setup.0

@OP, calm down. You gave them one hour before charging back?
Their website seems up for me.0

HostLatch.net seems to be loading fine on my end. In my honest opinion, I think the OP jumped to conclusions and acted too quickly. Filing a chargeback or dispute will not always help in getting you a refund especially over PayPal as they'll likely side with the seller since a VPS or any service is non-tangible for that matter. I wouldn't call them scammers just because of this instance, it just seems like the OP was a bit impatient.

I agree with igxhost, I am a customer of hostlatch.net and for me so far so good (even thought this is not my main host but at least I have nothing negative to say about them).

Sounds pretty ridiculous to jump to a refund because your VPS wasn't setup within 1 hour.....wow...

He had decided to get refund at the start of the conversation, thats why he didn't want to wait for an hour to setup the vps.
