Errr.... Is everything ok at teamvps.com?

    Hi guys,

I just bought my 2nd vps from teamvps.com today morning, and now its been like 8hours since my order placement.

I haven't heard a word from them other than the default whmcs emails and paypal email.

If there's anyone on their n/w is it possible to share info with me?

    Thanks,

While 8 hours seems to be a long time for provisioning VPS, not all providers are able to do 2-4 hour provisioning. For example, GeekStorage took 9-15 hours to set up my VPS when I ordered from them earlier, while WiredTree set it up in 2-3 hours.

I think you should still wait for teamVPS to provision the server, and if you're kept waiting there for more than 24 hours, contact them.

    Thanks for the reply,

Usually all the people i have worked with provided me the vps within about 30mins-2hr period.

but i will keep waiting for a little bit more.

    Thanks

do you have a control panel or anywhere you can check to see if the VPS has been created ?
There are times when e-mail messages don't reach the client and will take a long time. Also check your spam folder.
If you do not find anything then try to contact them directly.

Well, I guess they will provision your VPS later if they are doing it manually. I haven't check to see if they use any VPS control panel for automatic provisioning.

If you order with their free DirectAdmin they give you 24 hours setup time. At least, they gave me that kind guarantee when made order a few weeks ago.

But, after some nice chit-chat with Brian, I've got my account with DA installed about a half an hour after pay order

    Well,

finally they sent me several emails today morning ~4am (GMT +5.30) with login info for the VPS and HyperVM part.

Since i forgot to mention the OS type i wanted i think i have to wait for another additional 24hrs for the free DA license to be activated.

In the mean i'm impressed about the benchmark scores. This with just the bare VPS. Not a single site running. Just the bare os.

They get their DA licenses from wholesaleinternet and it can take a while on weekends. I've ordered DA licenses on Friday and didn't get them until Sunday night. Just give it time.

While you wait how about doing a few file transfers from a couple other first class servers and report your speeds. It may be fairly good until the caps are installed on your VPS.

Others have reported speeds in the 600-800kBs range. Just slightly less than a cable connection.

Yes, that's correct. That's the average speed that i'm getting at the moment. and it took a hell of a lot time to install virtualmin on this server. That's really not good as on the bandwidth side.

Talking on the server performance itself, the system is really good. i'll post a benchmark once some stuff is installed. and running.

Virtualmin is really hard to understand and takes a long time to configure. I'm thinking about reloading the os again cos i'm really tired and battling out for more than four hours just to get one client system ready.

Lets see what DA brings to us.
