    Poetic justice at Starbucks

I visited a new Starbucks yesterday morning, and the barista happened to be none too friendly. Halfway through the transaction, she also sneezed into her hands.

I looked at her hands. She looked at her hands. Then she continued working on my drink without washing her hands. Eww.

But soon justice arrived: my transaction was selected as 1 of 2 total customer transactions at the store that day where I was asked to complete a survey online in exchange for a free drink.

I gleefully completed the survey at starbucks.com. I feel better now.

See, now I dont get that. If she was attractive enough to swap spit with, then why wouldnt you drink the coffee made with spit on her hands? Is the spit somehow different on a molecular level due to the force at which it was removed from her mouth?

You didn't order your drink with a sneeze on top so why accept it? I certainly wouldn't.

She might have had Hayfever? It's hard to stop sneezing when you suffer from Hayfever, and it always happens at the time you don't want to sneeze. She still should have washed her hands though, as long as nothing went in the drink then I would of still took it.

It's the same as someone sneezing then touching a handrail, then a few minutes later you touch it but you didn't know - Then you touch your mouth for something. It's just one of them things in being a human.

I cant believe you let her get away with that and relegated yourself to filling out an online form. That's apalling behavior and should have been immediately reported to the store manager.

    Hadn't thought of that.

Did she actually sneeze into the drink? I guess if she just sneezed, but away from the drink, its no biggie.

A light sneeze is. From a tickle, small, dust, etc.
Now a "sick" sneeze might add some extra thick flavoring to your drink.

    nasty.... no way, no how.

A new deli opened up in our office complex a couple of months ago. The owner was at the register taking the money (coins/paper) then going in the back and making the sandwiches. I couldn't tell she was doing that until I gave her my order.

I refused the sandwich and asked for a full refund, and she was shocked. I said, "Don't you realize how many germs could be on those coins and you just put them on a sandwich I was going to eat. No thanks, haven't been back.

This was a fairly ghetto Starbucks. There appeared to be a shift supervisor on the floor, but no store manager. My hopes were not too high.

One of my buddies works as a manager at a different Starbucks. He tells me that that particular survey carries significant weight.

Still, I see your point. I suppose I just prefer pursuing amends with corporate rather than the local store.

Yeah, well, I hear that you go through the Starbucks drive-thru near work, Kyle. We know of your addiction.
