I can greatly recommend http://www.firstcallmediagroup.com for reseller hosting. I used them and they are just excellent. Support tickets are answered extremely quickly and are always able to help.

zdss,

I can totally understand your budget of $50/a year however realistically I don't think you can find a stable/reliable host who can give you a reseller for $50/year. You might find some at even $10/month however even at $10/month that host would have to put a heavy amount of accounts in the server to sustain business. It is questionable for hosts who do this as am sure they will sacrifice service for it or are short term business plans to sell out. Hence this is why most likely your original host did and I hope you can see that now. Perhaps there is two options you can consider. Increasing your budget a bit or settling with shared hosting which will still let you host all those domains however they will not all have their own cPanel. There is a compromise which has to be made either way. Best of luck.

i've been using resellerzoom's $6.95 package for years without problems with it.

the other hosting (the one i'm looking to replace) i go for is a gamble and more often it does pay off. But i don't think the equivalent of $240 (price wise it still works out at £1 to $2 for hosting) for a year for that package is great (especially when they know i've never used over 1GB of space (it's currently under 300mb), that only 3 domains are on it and have been and that my bandwith has never gone above 500mb.)

Anyone got any opinions on the following:
pcsmarthosting.com
diligenthost.com
hostatree.comthanks again

I definitely don't doubt you had no problems with it I guess my point was they weren't able to sustain that price and be profitable so thus why you are most likely seeing the new company make changes. So it is possible you will see this with any company who does do these kind of offerings and might be a never ending hosting change.

If you don't want to increase your budget, integrated all domain in single Cpanel account. It will just take a few minutes and save you lot of money on your hosting bills. Recommended!

Increase your budget, Get a Reseller Account. i don't see a real need that you need a reseller account, as you are only the single user. NOT recommended

I was going to tell you about ResellerZoom. I think you have the answer there.

But still, if you want to check out another option, I can't think of any that meets your exact requirements, but if any shared host has the option to go custom, then your best shot is to ask them directly, go to your top choices and ask.

I have heard good things about MediaLayer and I, personally, have good experiences with VectorLevel, but none of them uses WHM/cPanel.

Always remember that you get what you pay for.

Good luck !

Cool

You can always ask. Many shared hosts won't have WHM listed as an option because there is no reason and maybe they don't want to get into reselling. However many hosts will work with you. Things like a dedicated IP are usually just a little more a month and my conversion from Euros isn't any good so I don't understand your budget but if you found a shared host that had everything you wanted at a price that works for your budget you can contact them and explain why you need WHM but aren't going to resell and someone will probably work with you.

As you said it's kind-of like a couple of clicks (no real extra cost to the host) but there is more to it than that. There's the time spent configuring an account that they aren't set up to normally do so there's some "tech time" and effort there, but if you find everything else that suits you it never hurts to at least ask if they could accommodate WHM.

Personally I wish there was an "in between" with WHM. We have some clients that could use it but if you offer it you can't be sure people aren't reselling (as long as they don't do it obviously) We caught someone on just a multi-domain cPanel account reselling a few weeks ago so you never really know what some people may try to do from the host's point of view.

Best of luck

What provider is it that bought out your old company out of curiosity? You don't have to answer this question if you don't want.

I'm looking for 2GB space, 5-10GB bandwith and cpanel and WHM (and ideally a unique IP for SSL)!
(i like being able to set each account up with a separate cpanel account and have got used to that so would prefer that to continue with WHM access - although i don't actually resell anything myself at all now)
Many providers will set you up with a custom package if you contact them and ask them - worst case is that they will tell you no and you can just move on to another provider.

My advice would be to contact providers you are interested in and ask them if you can get a smaller reseller package for a smaller price - you're more likely to succeed with a smaller hosting provider but you may get lucky with a larger one.

it is othellohosts.net, the 'company' they had bought being duportonline.com. It amuses me that their response to my query about the price is "we arent some overselling reseller of a reseller of a reseller of a reseller - thats what proper hosting costs" and yet they are a company that purchases hosts doing the act they complain about!

I don't have any first hand information on them, but you can always do a search here and see if there are any reviews on them. Also it is always good to make contact, ask them a few things that concerns you and see their response, then you can make a decision.

I would suggest to add maybe another couple, so you can have a wider view and make contact as well. Asking for coupons also it's a good idea if you don't find any posted.

Good luck

hi

i have a couple of small sites and the host i originally signed up with was bought over, they then matched the original price for a year and now they want to put it up by £100 for the next year's hosting (when i questioned this they said i was getting a discount as it is and it should be about £300). LOL!!

So - i'm now looking for a new host BUT my problem is that the original package was a reseller one but my requirements aren't much at all.

I am positive you will find everything but WHM on a Shared Account, You will mre have success with a Reseller Account if you require WHM

Can understand what you are saying, Have you got this WHM with a Current Webhost, Cause most hosts that I do see, Do not allow it on a Shared Account rather more a Reseller Account to resell packages to clients.

Quote:
So can anyone point me in the right direction. I've looked through the 'offers' sections on this forum and others but keep going around in circles.
I could not give you a clear choice to who offers WHM in their service of Shared Hosting, Have you thought about getting a low priced reseller package from any webhost?

Quote:
I guess what i need is a host that's small enough to provide custom packages and care about effectively allowing WHM access on a non-reseller account but reliable enough and with some track-record.
Some of the replies here have been quite sufficient for me not to really work on a response here

Any ideas at all?
(i need to find somewhere soon so i can tell the current host where to go)
I have been with MDDHosting for over a year now and they are very good. That is my recommenadation here

thanks in advance

just in case anyone cares about what i did (doubt it, lol)

in the end, having weighed up everything, i went with diligenthost.com and got a reseller account with them - all seems great so far. Certainly, better than my previous host by far!
