    Saturn's rings 'may live forever'

I love how science just keeps moving forward.

We would all like to 'live for ever' wouldn't we ?

    From the BBC website: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7141628.stm

"We are able to reach the paradoxical conclusion - because the rings appear so young, they may actually be as old as the Solar System"

'Data from the Cassini probe shows these thin bands of orbiting particles were probably there billions of years ago, and are likely to be very long-lived.

It means we are not in some special time - the giant planet has most likely always provided a stunning view. Previous data had led researchers to believe the rings were created just 100 million years ago, when a huge moon or comet shattered in Saturn's vicinity.'

    ----------------------

We truely live in an amazing world - - and now I feel young.

We do indeed Brian. I am gobsmacked and humbled by the wonderous and mysterious universe that we inhabit.

I love those magnificent rings of saturn. Just imagine how bad would it be to see saturn without those lovely rings..

    Here's some more space wonders:

A powerful jet of particles from a "supermassive" black hole has been seen blasting a nearby galaxy, according to findings from the US space agency.

Amazing facts. Since every single thing God created has a purpose, I wonder what's the other purpose of that ring beside its beautiful view.

Well I guess it's already taught us that what we 'thought', can change, also gets 'strangers talking', which is good, and maybe a 'space age' rainbow God/Man covernant, yet to happen ?

Some more 'spacey' stuff for you all to Ponder:

New work by a team of US astronomers has shown that wherever there is room for a planet to form around a young star, it does.

The researchers predicted the existence of an unknown planet circling a star more than 200 light-years from Earth.
This prediction was based on a study of the orbits of two planets already known to orbit the star HD 74156.
They then observed the system and confirmed there was a new planet just where they predicted it would be. The find represents the first time astronomers have successfully forecast the existence of an unknown planet since Neptune was predicted in the 1840s.

The sad part about it ...we live in the era were all these things will start to happen (these conclusions) so we wont see the days of the future of how we would expand upon our research...(because we don't live that long) which makes me wonder..
Who is this infamous HTML i keep hearing of, is she cute?
