    Church Website

    Please review our church website. The site is about 80-90% finished. The Forum/Guestbook link isnt available yet.

    Nice pleasant clean layout. Not my favorite shade of blue but that's a personal preference. It should fill up nicely as you finish it.

    The Ministry page also returns 404 error.

    Hello,

    Your choice of color is interesting. Personally, I wouldn't use black as a border to emphasize the site itself. You might want to remove it or try the color white.

    On the contact page, you might want to consider using a form rather than a link to an email address. This way anyone can send you an email even when they don't have an email program on the computer.

    Good luck!

    Altogether, the website is well made. I rather enjoy th logo (pretty cool for a church) I like the approch you took on this site. It is 'happy' unlike other church sites, which are boring and drabby. At first I wasn't a fan of the black background, but I have grown to like it.

    Good Job!

    I agree with Invision on the "happiness" of your site. I, however, think that you should make your body background white. Part of the reason is that, though your site works well in different resolutions, the larger resolution screens (like 1024x768) allow too much black background bracketing your cheery page.

    Also, the "Schedule of Services" navigation image has a bright green background color, whereas the rest of your nav images have the aforementioned black background. Here is the code in your source:

    <TD COLSPAN=4 BGCOLOR=#33FF00>
    <A HREF="sked.html">
    <IMG SRC="images/sked.gif" WIDTH=140 HEIGHT=24 BORDER=0 ALT=""></A></TD>

    Simply remove the "BGCOLOR=#33FF00" portion to fix it.

    While attempting to run your site through the W3C MarkUp Validator, a fatal error occured stating that no document type was specified. This should be at the very top of your page's code:

    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

    This should work as the Document Type Definition for your pages. If you want to learn more, do a little research at http://www.w3c.org.

    Be sure to install a working forum so that your church and church members can use it to interact.

    All in all, though, good job!

    Yeah, the green background i forgot to change that while i was doing the layout in Photoshop. I will have to change the things that i havent noticed (that you reviewers have noticed )when i have the time.

    The nationality of the members is Filipino. Also have American christians once in a while.

    The church is in Cebu city, Philippines.

    Little info about Cebu here>> http://www.resortsphilippines.com/cebu.html

    I would like to echo what has been said about the background. The site would look much better if you changed the background to white.

    nice site, take cmdrneon's advice, im running at 1024x768 and the black around the site takes away from its happy mood.

    [hehe its funny that you say that.
    ALL the church websites ive worked on were made boring by the elders of the church etc..I started off with a babyblue gradient design and ended up with a black, white and gray design with no pictures after the elders got involved lol]

    Very good start.

    IMHO the black doesn't seem appropriate, maybe a light gray would work.

    The thing that bothered me the most is the use and slicing of all those images. You could easily use background colors and real text instead.

    rollovers on the top nav, and change the bottom nav to text...try to keep images to the lowest amount possible...load times are better. Nice site for a church tho!

    Would you consider adding some comics or something to make it more kids-friendly?

    I think i'll change the background into white or gray. You people are right these colors are better than black. It may take a while though for these change to take place.

    Very nice. I like the logo also. I would not use black for a church web site personally.
