Boston's highway layout is horrible. I think it's easier driving in New York City lol.

Make sure it's updated. Always a lot of construction and road's closed. And they will have one sign. Then in about 100 feet, the lane will close and it will be hectic haha...

    I haven't driven in Boston in about 3 years.....Maybe it's better now...

Conference-wise, most people won't be driving to or in Boston. Boston promotes itself and is known as one of the best walking cities in the US. Not to mention, there is an uncomplicated subway system (compared to New York) that will get you to anywhere in Boston for under $2.

New York City has a grid system, how can you really get lost?

they've not long completed the "big dig" after what? 25 years of planning delays and development from spaghetti junction.. So you'd expect it to be the best walking city after all that.. lol

I'll be there I guess living around Boston my whole life and driving into boston frequently I'm used to the highways. The location of hostingcon is very easy to get to from highways coming from south or north.

I'm thinking about coming but I'd have to fly out the day the conference ends. I know the airport is close to where the convention is but any idea how bad getting to the airport will be if my flight leaves at 6pm?

Don't stay out later than 12:15pm if you're taking this "uncomplicated system". Especially if you're going from line to line the last one is around 12-12:30 for all of them so be sure to make your last destination before then.

You could take the T to Logan, I believe it's the Silver line.

haha fair enough. It's not bad...just compared to NYC not nearly as fun. Things end much earlier in Boston (for safety reasons [several years ago they had issues]).

12:15 AM, but you're right--most of the subway shuts down a little after midnight. However, not much is going on in Boston's nightlife around that time anyway. If needed, there are plenty of taxis to get you around after that.

    Hi Jeff,

I'd suggest to probably just get a taxi from Hynes convention center to Logan. If your flight is at 6PM, going from the Green line (at Hynes) to the Red line (at Park Street) in order to change to the Silver Line (at South Station) to Logan, it might take you some time, especially if you're unfamiliar with where to go.

    HostongCon

I'll be there, my first time attending.

Anyone have any opinions as to highlights in past years? Just wondering what people really want to see/learn about at an event like this.

Actually, no. It expands well beyond WHT membership.
