    How to Check if this Port is Blocked or Open

    Hello,

    I want to check if certain port is open and not blocked by my ISP how can I do that ?? let's say I want to check if PPTP VPN port is open what software show me these info

    can you suggest something ??

    Do you mean on your server or your own computer?

    You can do a telnet test or get a program that checks the ports that are open.

    I meant on my own computer , I want to know if my ISP block the PPTP VPN port for example

    Easiest way is to try and telnet to a pptp vpn and see if the connection is allowed to make it as far as the vpn server.

    If you are doing vpn in particular make sure your router is also not blocking it and has a vpn pass through mode. Generally it is enabled by default but not always.

    That is for inbound port checking, not outbound. That will just see if your ISP blocks it going into your computer, not out.

    I will try your telnet method
