Unhappy Burst.Net... Serious Delays In My Orders & Tickets!

Burst.Net... Serious Delays In My Orders & Tickets!
    ---------------------------------------------------

This is actually a Bit of a Long Story... So bare with me.
On Friday 07/10/11 i order My 1st Ever Dedicated Server!!
After A Friend Said 2 weeks before this he got 2 servers..
Ready in 2 days, and Ip Allocations in 24 hours. I was Convinced!

So i place my own order with them, for a Server from there New..
L.A, California Data Center! And They advertise 72 hours Delivery!

So 72 hours later.. im curious how much longer it will be..
And put a Ticket in... 15 hours later i got a reply, saying..
That my Server will be ready in 24 hours!

So i wait patiently.. And my Customers, and potential income,
Also wait patiently at this point!! Not really a Problem.

Then 36 Hours Later, still no Server... And i Complained.
Eventually it had been over 5 days.. and i finally got my Order.
And They also Updated my Billing Date, to Suit, for the Delays!

So ok.. it was a Long wait!! But i am Hoping its worth it!!
So now i have my Dedicated Server, i immediately Order a,
29 IP allocation for 10$ USD, Plus i Optioned for ASAP!
Which is a 10$ Setup fee on Top, to Speed it up, i hoped!!

But 24 hours later, No Allocation, and they allready Credited,
The 10$ Setup fee, back to my Account with them! So No problem.
But I placed a Ticket at this Point, asking How much Longer??

The Reply i Received was as Follows....

    Hello,

The rush option is a best-effort basis. When it comes to servers we rarely miss the effort. IPV4 is quickly dwindling away, and we are under stricter guidelines than usual in getting new allotments. I will pass your request to the IP allotment department and see if they can give you any better timeframe.

Thank you for being a valued BurstNET customer.

    --------------------------------------------------

^^^ Now if You See The Time And Date.. This Reply..
Was 2 Days Ago.. Ive Since Asked Again for a Timeframe!
As i still now over 3 days later, dont have the 29 IPs i Ordered!
And i have no reply yet, i asked over 15 hours ago.

Its now been 8 days, Since i started my adventure with Burst.Net
And im still waiting, to start my VPS Services!
Because i still dont have the IP's i Ordered.

After the Review my friend gave me, i expected much better!!
But i am very disappointed in this service. An timeframing.
I would not recommend them to anyone at this point...
Maybe its just issues at there new Cali Data Center. i dunno.
But this is definitely Shocking for inc 500 company!

Im scared to even order any more servers through them..
I cant afford to be hel up for 8+ days, to Get 1 Server..
With 1 Block of 29 IPs extra on it. Bad for my business.

I really wish they would tell me a Time frame, that is True.
Or that they would just complete my order allready...
So i can starting providing to my customers.

This has really been stressing me out, the whole experience.
Has anyone else had problems with them recently, currently?
Or am the only Victim to this Poor Service..

    ----------------------------------------------------
If anyone from burst.net Reads this...

    Hi,

I understand your frustration. You must however be aware that ipv4 is fast depleting and ip allotment has become a big issue, You need to fill in the ip justification form with details as to how many ip, what you will be using it for etc.. depends upon the ip provides I guess but anyway it is not at all an easy procedure. I am talkig about 1 or 2 ip' here for 29 ip's only God know how long it would take.

I am not trying to defend burstnet in anyway but , it could be that they ran our out ip pools allotted to them and need to request new pool from their provider.. which I believe cold be a long procedure, again depends upon the providers.

I am the one who recommended burst.net to this poster. i never had any problems getting ip blocks from them or getting my servers on time.. im really happy with burst.net service but the problems this man has been having really makes me feel bad i recommended burst to him.. it shocked me at how he is being done and i know its hard for him now with money tied up in a server to make vps's on for his customers and without ips he cant make his money back and his server bill will be due again before long and hes starting out way behind... i sure hope burst fixes this fast i dunno if ill ever recommend anyone else again..

It does suck that the OP is having issues but the OP's lack of funds while running his business is not your fault. You shouldn't feel bad for someones lack of budget.

Burst does have issues and things take awhile, while I'm not sticking up for them, if you want things now and faster responses pay for it.

    Unhappy ok

Thanks To 1st Reply, I am doing my best to be patient.
And i did provide justification for the needed IP's.
To Provide VPS's for More Customers on the Server. Etc.
But yeah thanks to your explination im better aware of why,
Maybe its being delayed so long.

And The 3rd Reply here, You say if i want it faster i should pay.
I did just that for the IP's, Paid the Extra Fee to get it ASAP.
They Refunded it to me and didnt tell me. So i Ticketed,
About it, asking why have the option if cant provide it. etc.
And got the Response i showed there in my 1st post.

So yes i did try to get it faster, but it didnt help.
Anyway i can but wait patiently an cross my fingers for it.
I only post here in the hope to maybe get my Order Done,
And maybe some reassurance, that if i do get more servers..
With Burst.Net. that i will not be put through this again.
Id hate to have waited through all this, just to have to..
Seek a new Provider. Because of the effect such long time frame's
Can have on my business im trying to start.. If my 1st server,
Fills up fast.. and i need another server asap. and IP's.
And i pay the fee to get it expedited, For Server, then IPs.
Am i going to have these problems further? I certainly fear it
But i dont want to seek another Provider.

So if any Burst.Net person/s read this. Any Reassurance for me?

Dean, whilst I'm not trying to make excuses for anyone, it does kinda look like you're the victim of weekends more than anything...

Bare in mind that many hosting companies (including BurstNET) only operate support at weekend. Sales, Customer Service, Billing, etc., all shut up shop on Friday early evening and start again Monday morning - When they essentially come into work and find themselves faced with a huge pile of tickets and orders raised over the weekend, so things don't go quite as quickly on a Monday compared to the middle 3 days of the week.

So.... You ordered your server some time on a Friday. There's a good possibility that your order wasn't checked and processed until some time Monday depending on how many other orders were ahead of yours in the queue. Looking at the timeline in your first post it looks like you got your server some time on Wednesday? That actually falls within the specified timescale of 72 hours from order acceptance to server delivery.

Then you order your extra IPs... I'm assuming this was maybe late Wednesday or sometime Thursday? Again this order would have gone to Burst's Sales first to be approved (during working hours), and possibly they sent you a justifiction form for the extra IPs, but I can only guess at the timeline until you opened another ticket on Friday. Notice the timestamp on the ticket reply you got from Colin Joyce - 10-14-2011 - 07:27PM (Friday evening). I'm guessing that you are again the victim of the weekend and that when the IP Allocations department show up for work Monday morning (tomorrow) you'll get your IPs without a hitch.

It pays to understand how companies operate and how weekends and different timezones can play a part in creating an apparent delay which actually doesn't exist. The moral here, at least for me, is that the best time to order a server is on a Tuesday morning

Sad to hear. I remember receiving everything I ordered fast and in time. I've dedicated server with additional IP's, also a VPS with additional IP's from them.

I think I've been their customer since early this year, whenever I've needed support, thye usually answer in 15min - 2 hours timeframe and at least issues I've reported has also been solved quite fast.

All good. As the other guy said, order your server on tuesday morning.

PS. My services are in USPA. Maybe the L.A location has more issues/delay though.
