My friend has a Pantech Duo. I've used it every once in awhile and I think it's a great phone.

I don't want an iPhone. Waste of money for something I don't need (I don't need all the bells and whistles).
I'm curious what kinds of phones are common now a days. I may not even get a data plan for it. It depends on how much the phone is, etc.
A keyboard would be cool as well.

I was using a Treo 750 for the past few months, recently upgraded to the HP ipaq 910 (and I love it). Treo was a solid phone, not a bad choice if you're looking for something with features but still practical.

Yeah, I hear the IPAQ is a kick a** phone! I presently have a blackberry and I enjoy using it very much. I have to stay pretty much constantly on call in one way or the other and it lets me handle all of my needs seamlessly! It would really depend, Dougy, on what you really want. If you don't want to get a data plan (or wouldn't use one if you got it) then I would imagine a smartphone would really not be the thing for you! I will say this though, I just bought my girlfriend a samsung behold and she loves the phone and I am a pretty big fan. That phone is pretty cool to use even without the data plan! Hope you find what you are looking for! Take care!
