A quick amazon search on G176J yielded:
http://www.amazon.com/2-5G176J-Drive...9150078&sr=1-3
That looks pretty good at $13.99
I see Stallard a lot on ebay. But having checked their prices on things over the years they never seemed to be really competitive. Although in a pinch they probably have what you need and can next day air it at a reasonable cost. I would bet their caddy prices are the same xbyte.

They are usually on the expensive side.

Recevied these Friday. They are the gold knock off's. The knock off's fit ok for the most part. But sometimes they seem bent/bowed/mishapen I guess maybe due to lack of QC. At least all the arms snapped in this time. Last batch of knock off's we had the arms didn't want to snap.

Well, the seller ships from Virginia.

I have dealt with this seller in the past. No problem.
This lost of 100 ships from CA: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-G176J-2...#ht_500wt_1260.
Plenty of these at ebay. Just do your search.Fluid Hosting, LLC - Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure: Cloud Shared and Reseller, Cloud VPS, and Cloud Hybrid Server

It thought your point is getting a Dell caddy, cheap, and not shipped from HK?
Besides, what's "real deal caddies"? They are the exact Dell caddies, and they work, don't they?Fluid Hosting, LLC - Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure: Cloud Shared and Reseller, Cloud VPS, and Cloud Hybrid Server

No, they don't all work. The real ones are silver, the knock off's are gold. Knock off's, in our experience of about 50 of them, from 3 different sellers, are that 1 in 4 the little levers won't snap in and about 1 in 3 they don't align right with the sata ports on the backplane and require an extra force to "snap" the back the remaining 1/4 inch into the backplane. Plus the gold ones we can see the metal arms are bent/bulging sometimes after screwing the drives in.
The goal is to get the silver ones, cheap, in the US.

Must be the only case that siver is better than gold ...
Perhaps the sellers at ebay sell the silver one?Fluid Hosting, LLC - Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure: Cloud Shared and Reseller, Cloud VPS, and Cloud Hybrid Server

Any updates on this? I'm finding it impossible to find the original dell part for any reasonable price, and the cheapo ones on amazon/ebay don't really fit correctly (you almost have to force it in....)
