How to secure a windows server?
What are some basic programs I should install to secure a windows server that runs gameservers and such?

i would defenetly recommend an antivirus program. AVG (google it) is very good (free for non profit use).
i would also recommend using the windows firewall (control panel/firewall) and only open the ports needed.

Add admin and system, remove the everyone account for all drives.
Disable services:
Automatic Updates
Background Intelligent Transfer Service
Messenger
Remote Registry Service
DHCP Client(unless you use dhcp)
TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service
Remove the admin shares for C$

this would be a start, everything else depends on how secure you want this server, what ports you need open and what type of firewall you are using.

In addition, run the Microsoft Baseline Security anylyzer and the IIS lockdown tool.
Keep your system updated with all service packs and MS updates[url]I got nothing/url]
For clarity's sake, don't use "<ip address of hostname>" use the ACTUAL 32-bit numeric IP address of the machine.
