    Thumbs up EuroVps Review (100% Server Uptime for the last 6 weeks)

    I've had a Linux VPS from EuroVps for about six weeks now, and I must say I'm very pleased with their service. I wanted to have access to make changes, but I also wanted some knowledgeable backup in case I broke it - I'm not all that experienced with Linux and downtime is completely unacceptable to me. I've been able to do what needs to be done with a little help from the techs.


    I ordered my VPS in the early morning hours, when I came back to my computer in the morning I had an email waiting for me with login details. I spent a couple of days moving sites over from my old host which went without a hitch.


    Tech support has been very responsive, if not completely knowledgeable. Every time I send them in a ticket, I get a response back within 10 minutes. Most of my problems have been self-inflicted and they were very understanding of
    my inexperience and lack of knowledge.


    Network uptime has been 100% for me during the last six weeks.


    Over all Eurovps is the best host I have had in a few years.

    All I can say is that two other people who signed up at the same time as me have now both also left after hanging in there slightly longer.

    Why do you need to know that? I am certainly not posting my domains in the public forum. I had a number hosted on a shared hosting account there.

    Why is it? Please explain what is so interesting.

    There is no big mystery. It's just my choice. I run various sites mainstream and gay and I don't want them being linked to one another. Someone looks up one of the sites on Google and then immediately finds a great list on here. It's not going to happen I'm afraid , not just to please you.

    EuroVPS already posted more of my details in a thread on here than they should have and I didn't like it.

    He's an angry customer that's bashing, it happens. He received all his money back plus 100.00 Euros cash for his troubles, I don't think that's that bad considering he was paying less than 10 euros per month for shared hosting.

    The server he was on was victimized by DDOS'ers, and there was absolutely nothing we could do about it. The end result was that we split 20 resellers across 4 different cPanel servers, and assigned each reseller a static IP - this was the only way we eventually tracked down who was being DOS'd.

    Quick rundown:

    * Customer is hosting his sites, reseller / shared account
    * Server is DOS'd, heavily (we have covered this topic in other posts several times)
    * We refund him 100.00% of his money, from the beginning of his time with us
    * We give him 100.00 Euros, cash,
    * Now he is responding to reviews of another customer who has a VPS server with us

    If this is not "bashing" I don't know what is. He has nothing constructive to say, nor does he realize that most providers would have never refunded him, nor would have given him 100.00 Euros just because they felt bad that he was experiencing downtime. There is no legal clause that required us to give him 100.00 Euros, we just FELT BAD that he was inconvenienced.

    In the final analysis there is not much more to say. The other two customers he speaks of were on the same cPanel server that was ravaged all to hell and back by DDOS. We eventually got to the bottom of it, and it was not easy doing so.

    This entire DDOS / cPanel 10.1-> 10.4 upgrade situation was covered EXTENSIVELY in prior postings made by us on this board, and discussing shared hosting matters, in a VPS forum is not only imappropriate but a waste of bandwidth.

    Beyond that, to badmouth the character of an organization that experienced technical difficulties beyond their control, and then refunded 100.00% and credited 100.00 Euros cash to the customer, who was paying ~10 Euros per month, is not appropriate either.

    We have experienced a variety of problems, as all mature providers, ranging from DOS, hardware failures, RAID failures, etc. Throughout it all, we have always kept our customers apprised of whatever issues have taken place, and always compensated FAR BEYOND WHAT IS THE NORM for this industry for technical issues.

    I appreciate the original poster's honesty in reporting on our services.

    How did I bad mouth you? I stated a fact which you have just verified.

    I suggested your company to two other people. They signed up, had problems, as I did, stayed slightly longer than me. There were further problems with downtime for them and I understand one was not happy with the attitude of support so they left. One fairly recently (within the last two weeks?).

    However in both cases I understand they were also unhappy about the remarks that you made on here about you personally objecting to my sites having legal gay content (which was cleared with your company before I signed up).

    You forget to mention the abuse that I received on ICQ which included calling me a liar. You also contradicted what I said in the thread on here, but I was able to produce an ICQ log disproving what you said. Things fell strangely silent after that.

    This site is supposed to be a place where people can find out the good and bad places for hosting. You can't change the experience that I and two other people had. It happened. Do people who are looking for a host want to read personal experiences? Yes. Do they want me to keep quiet because EuroVPS insisted on putting 100 Euros in my PayPal account? My guess is no. I never asked for either a refund or 100 Euros.

    some customers you cannot win with. If you don't refund them and go out of your way to resolve the situation, you are a bad host. Now, if you give a refund + some extra as a "sorry for the troubles" it becomes a please keep quiet bribe? I think its impossible to win with a customer such as rgsuk.

    as for this thread, it should still be noted that rgsuk was using shared hosting not vps from what I have read, and on top of that he is hosting adult content (i think you said gay porn?) , and adult hosting I believe often brings bad attention such as ddos attacks which are sometimes impossible to defend.

    anyway why do I care? because I have been attacked for no reason before, and It bothers me to see it happen.

    Every time I come to this forum I always see some folks getting kicked around. Looks to me like they did just about all they could do to get you set on. From reading your writings I can tell something ain't right that's for sure.

    rgsuk i remember you making a post about this a while back, honestly man just drop it. I find it weird that you are still complaining about it. You basically say the same thing everytime too. We kind of get the point that you don't like them, you dont have to post everytime it says "Eurovps" as a topic. I have personally seen more positive reviews than negitive ones about their service. And everytime there is something bad about it, you have posted somewhere in it. I don't think that a 100 Euro isn't a bride, I think it is just to say "Sorry that you had a bad experience" And Yes HP-Kevin, That was what the website was about from the previous posts. Does it bug you that much that someone had a good experience with them rgsuk? I have had bad experiences with hosts but you don't see me going around posting in multiple threads saying how bad they are. Usually I keep it to myself. Thats just how I feel.

    All I can say is, I don't run TGPs or stuff like that, just a personal site which happens to have adult content and mainly just links to it, with low traffic.

    I have had sites since 1997 and I have never experienced a DOS attack before at any other place where I have been hosted. So I think it is unlikely that it was anything to do with my site in the couple of weeks I was at EuroVPS.

    I asked them in advance if they were happy with legal adult and they were. One of the other two people was hosting straight adult content. The other person was not hosting any adult content at all.

    I notice on this board, certain people persist in putting down adult webmasters. Yes adult websites have porn and they are the most popular destinations on the Internet. The majority of people online here in the UK browse porn sites.

    My experience has been that there are some very good people who run adult sites and strangely I do not hear of them having constant DOS attacks. In fact I can't think of one who has.

    I don't care about the money to be quite honest. The way to 'win' with a customer 'like' me is to provide a good service. Minimum downtime, effective and polite support and to appreciate that this is a business for many people, including me. Even if it is adult. Once a company has failed on these things they can't 'win'. It's too late.

    HP-Kevin I am not 'attacking' nor am I commenting for 'no reason'.

    Despite what you all say, you do all seem to imply that I shouldn't criticise because I was given extra money.

    Do you or do you not want this message board to be a useful resource for people who are choosing a host?

    Sting please get your facts straight. I have posted in a total of TWO threads about EuroVPS including this one LOL

    I didn't want to go into long details again. Other people chose to drag that all up and I felt I needed to respond.

    Is this going happen everytime I say I don't recommend EuroVPS? If so then it is a tactic to stop me commenting at all isn't it?

    There is nothing wrong with adult sites. It is their choice whether or not to host you, and they can change their mind if they want. In this case they changed their mind and gave you money because of it so I don't understand why you are still complaining about it. You could easily use the money they gave you to purchase another server elsewhere.

    And i very much doubt that you do not care about 100 Euros, they could of quite easily said "We are not continueing to host your website" and not give you a refund of any find, but no, they were nice enough to give you money for your troubles and yet you complain about it.

    After the first thread I actually emailed one of the moderators and said I stood by everything I had said 100%. But, I said, it had got out of hand slightly, EuroVPS had refunded me and given me 100 Euros and if, in the opinion of the moderator, the thread should be taken down, I was happy for them to do that. They chose to leave it up.

    After I heard about the further problems experienced by those two other people I decided it was right that the thread had stayed up.

    How does me taking 100 Euros and never saying anything else help people who are looking for hosting? The support was one of the bad things and that affects all customers whether VPS, shared or reseller.

    Sting I assume you don't run sites as a business. Otherwise you will realise what a problem it is moving sites. and that 100 Euros is a drop in the ocean, though a nice gesture.

    I want to come to the defense of EuroVPS on the matter of adult hosting. What you are saying is totally untrue.

    It's fine to state your opinion but to say the basically discriminate against adult web hosting providers is a lie.

    There is no secret that adult hosting brings about the dark side of the internet, cracking, brute force, and most commonly DDos attacks. It's very difficult to pinpoint where an attack is comming from if it's on a shared server so cut them some slack.

    For you to bash them after they have refunded your money entirely and even given you a gift of money 10 TIMES what you paid montly is just rude.

    Anyway, my main point of this is that I was hosted on a shared server with euroVPS. I'm sure everyone is aware of their recent problems with DoS attacks and it was directed at the server my ADULT website was on. My site is number three on their list as far as the amount of CPU load it causes and they never complain. We were using 50-60 percent of the CPU on that shared server.

    They informed us last week that they have changed their policy around because of all the attacks recently. They no longer offer adult hosting on shared servers, which makes sense.

    So what did they do for me? They same day that I contacted them asking questions about moving from shared hosting to a VPS, Igor had an engineer working on setting up the VPS.

    Later that night we encountered a problem when signing up. They only accept paypal and check. My partner who lives in australia doesn't have his paypal account verified so it would be another 5 days until we could make payment for the VPS.

    So what did they do for us now? They gave us the IP, control panel login, admin login and helped me set up the new nameservers all without paying them a cent so far for the VPS.

    All of this was done with ZERO downtime. So before you want to put them down saying they don't like adult websites, get your facts straight.

    You are the type of customer that gives good hosts a bad name.

    By which he meant they had (legal) GAY adult content. They had OKed adult content when I signed up remember.

    Three of us have now left for the same reasons: poor support, downtime and rudeness. I have also had mail from one person saying thank you for posting your experience.

    If I accepted the 100 Euros and said nothing more ever again, that is hush money, right? Other people then sign up and have the same experience? It is nothing to do with 'rudeness' it is my experience.

    Do you run your sites as a business? I get the impression a lot of people on here don't and its just a hobby.

    The annoying thing about this board is that people continually misrepresent the situation, and some haven't even read the original thread before commenting and accusing me.

    Yes i have read the threads in question. Who cares if he doesn't want to host your site? I'm homophobic and I wouldn't want something like that associated with a business i run.

    My point is you are trying to make it sound like they discriminate against adult websites and they don't. You are obviously too simple minded to understand. You were paying 10 bucks a month and they gave you 100. So basically, they gave you 10 free months of hosting for the inconvience. It's ridiculous that you are complaining. Use the money to find a new host and shutup.

    I find it hilarious that you say you run your site as a business. First off, id you are running a gay porno site as your business, i feel bad for you. Second, you were on a shared hosting account paying 10 bucks a month. My geocities site in 4th grade probably got more activity than whatever you have hosted on there.

    You don't know me and you don't know what you're talking about. I've worked in mainstream publishing and now my business is creating and publishing content on mainstream and gay sites, some of which are adult.

    I'm very good at what I do. That is why I'm self-employed and have done this full time for the last 16 years (no other jobs). I earn a living from it. I don't think I need your advice or sympathy do I? ;-)

    I think you have some issues you need to deal with. It's clear that you have some stereotypical and preconceived ideas about the kind of sites I run just because they have been labelled 'adult' and I'm certainly not going to enlighten you. It would not be in my interest to do so.

    You think you need huge traffic to make money? Keep thinking that ;-) It shows how little you know. You're right I don't burn many Gigs each month and yet, thanks to my publishing experience, I make enough money to live on. Go figure :-)

    Your attitude doesn't surprise me. I know four other people who do pretty much the same as me and are equally successful. Often people can't believe we earn a living from it. They can't get their head around it. They are so blinkered and think the only way to earn a living is to work 9-5 in some wage-slave job.

    We all love what we do. Huge job satisfaction, work the hours we please from home, no stress, no travelling, tax advantages. Also some of the nicest people work in the adult industry.

    How much did your GeoCities site earn you?

    I saw this post, so i better give in.
    I Bought a Windows and a Linux VPS from eurovps on July 1st.
    I came back to my mail box after work, and saw my login information for BOTH servers.
    I log in and everything is great.
    I see that i am having some problems with FTP, so i send in a support message, 20 minutes later i get a reply saying they are working on it. 10 minutes after i recieved a reply, everything with ftp is working fine, ticket closed.
    From there on out i have had 100% uptime, no lagg problems at all! If you people are looking for a european VPS or dedicated server, i strongley recommend their services, you will be hapy, unlike rg suk
