How many of you use the FAVICON on your sites?

Just like the title says, how many of you put a favorite icon on your websites you create? I do, it definately makes it stand out and is easier to find it in my bookmarks, especially if they are well-designed.

Care to share your icons? Here's one I just did, really stands out in the address bar and in the favorites/bookmarks. Very, very slight rounding on the corners, the three colors match the three dominant colors on the site.

Here's a site I use to convert my PNG icons to ICO files.

    Nice favicon, Fixago. Here's mine.

(Edit - BTW, how did you upload yours? I had to just take a screenshot and crop out the fav. WHT wouldn't let me upload an ico file)

Mine is at portalplanet.net in firefox it should just show up. I also use several others for client sites if their logo is ok for it. It's a small branding I like to add to my site and my clients.

I use it. My readers have said that they only have to look at the icon in their favorites & they know right away which site it is. They don't even have to look at the name/URL.

How come just for FireFox? I didn't even see in your source code how you were parsing the icon, I just use the <link> tag...

Heh, I did the same thing too after realizing you couldn't upload ICO files I like that one you did too, it looks good at 16x16, which is HARD to do!

I add it for every site I own or design - it doesn't take too much time to design it and it's such a neat addition to every site
I'll try to compile the sheet with my favicons and upload it later.

I never expected I made so many of them
Some were made for private use only (for tabs in Firefox).
    Here they are.

I just found that link two days ago... I was going to suggest it. I've only done two favicons so far.

Yes but not with my hosting site because I can't figure out how to get the name in there or the logo in there so that it looks good. I'll plug away at it more and more, I was trying to find a good way to do it yesterday but no luck so far. The real reason I do so is so I don't have to worry about the 404 errors in the raw logs.

The bad thing about favicons generated by online scripts is that they include only 16x16 image. That's not enough - there should be also the 32x32 one (for desktop shortcut - otherwise it looks really bad when resized).
And the quality is usually not too good (well done favicon requires hand corrections made if not drawing from scratch in the small size).

16x16 image only, as your logo is very small.
