I remember a short while ago, I was supposed to have 512mb installed on a server but it show up as 384mb. In my case, it was later found to be faulty RAM.http://www.batchimage.com - Offering Batch Image Processing and TIFF/PDF Software Solutions

errrr - it might also be possible, that your kernel simply doesn't support more than 1 gig.... go re-compile your own kernel... and make sure to enable the option(s) for big memory support.
I kinda had the same 'problem' with a 2gig/redhat server....
cheers,

Got a reply a couple of hours ago from Nocster support.
Apparently they sloted only 1GB RAM and realise the mistake when I email to them, they are ordering the missing 500MB RAM and will be available next week.

I will give it a little more. You need to shut down the system, unscrew and remove a panel, install the RAM, put everything back and turning it on.
Maybe 10 minutes including shutdown and bootup time ? But it sure is worthwhile.http://www.batchimage.com - Offering Batch Image Processing and TIFF/PDF Software Solutions
