Does USPS deliver packages on Saturdays?
I'm shipping 3 big (50-60lb) packages via parcel post and USPS says it will take 4 days. So it should either arrive Friday or Saturday. Will USPS deliver on Saturdays? Even if its parcel post?
Thanks,

If they say it takes 4 days it'll be business days, in which case you'll be delivered to either Friday or Monday. Delivery companies have a more expensive saturday delivery that you have to pay for if you wish to have it delivered on Saturday.

Thats what I thought- but I talked to like 3-4 other people and they *thought* USPS delivered packages on Saturdays like regular mail.

I've gotten a package from USPS on a Saturday.....on more than one occasion (car parts).....
I would think that since they deliver mail on saturdays, packages wouldn't be a big deal..,.

Did you ask for any special type of shipping?

USPS doesn't differentiate saturday from normal days for their delivery. Their mailman goes out on sat just like any other day.

I thought shipping 60-70lbs worth of stuff would be much more expensive but it turns out its only like $27 + insurance (for parcel post). If I were to ship it priority mail it would be over $100.... I think I can wait those extra 2 days

Your right DHL and UPS both do, but DHL only does that in larger cities and UPS does it for time critical things, you pay extra. FedEx Ground (Home Division) has normal operations Tuesday - Saturday.

However, Crawley, FedEx does not guarantee delivery dates like UPS does.
