Canadian Merchant Accounts
Just wanted to see who all you CDN hosts are using for your merchant account. Being that there are few merchant providers that support CDN companies. There are a lot that support CDN fund settlement, but not companies located in Canada.
Thanks for the input!SuperWebHost.com, a Digitally Justified Company

Thanks for the information. Do you have any idea what the discount rate at Internet Secure would be? Ballpark, as I know it depends on your processing!

Vanhost. email them.
I know (i lost hte email now) they had one which was:
no setup
no monthly
no costs whatsoever besides:
per tranaction (i forget)
9% discount rate.
If you are use to paysystems this aint as bad option, although the discount rate isnt too nice.
The others where low discount rate, high per tranaction (.50-1.50).
This wasnt good for me as my average transaction is 4.99.
I didnt sign up with them though.
Paysystems isnt a merch acocunt btw.

We use PsiGate for our cc processing. In terms of reliability and ease of integration into your site they are excellent. They have a 3.75% discount (I think) rate and a 5% (I think) holdback rate for 90 Days for the Merchant Account. There is also a transaction fee but I can not remember how much off the top of my head. Their biggest downfall is the monthly maintenence fee of $50. I would say if you are doing many transactions they are very good but if you only think you will be doing a few transactions per month then you might want to consider going with someone else such as Internet Secure.
Keep us posted on your decision and how it works out.Keith Gallant

DevilDude
Who do you guys use for your CC's? With a sale rate of that you would have to go with low per transactioncost.Keith Gallant

My problem(s):
I do about 5-15 transactiosn a day (varies but never below 5 and never above 15)
THey are all low ammounts (around $5)
I am in Canada
Since they are of such low ammount (around $5) a low tranaction fee is needed.
Thats why i am delayed on finding a good merch acount provider

I just spoke with someone from PaySystems today and they dont give you a Merch Account...You uise theirs....
This isnt how we wanted to do things....I dont want the customer leaving my site...with paysystems they go to a pay page to enter their credit card info.
I dont think this is for us.Keith Gallant

You are able to redirect your customer back to any page on your website you want after the customer has completed filling in the info.

I agree with JustHost...although PaySystems I'm sure works great for some, a 3rd party processor is something I'm trying to steer clear of!
Great posts guys, thanks...I have actually already been in contact with PSiGate and the monthly fee was/is the only thing holding me back right now. I think I am going to crunch some numbers and perhaps bite the bullet with the monthly fee!SuperWebHost.com, a Digitally Justified Company

Total Merchant Services. It is really cool, but I have not finished the application process. But when I finish it, I will give you details. You get a Auth.net gateway, and VISA+MC Merch Accounts

Sheps,
I contacted Total Merchant Services before, and they stated that they only support US based businesses. Has their policy changed??
Please advise....SuperWebHost.com, a Digitally Justified Company

I have been researching this issue for some time now; at the moment I am using PaySystems but I am paying much more than I should be, so it is now time to get a merchant account. I am located in Canada, and prefer to stick with a Canadian merchant service provider. The #1 company on my list right now is PSI Gate; here is a short list of Canadian merchant account providers:

v2.0 Now Available!
Visit the following thread to get the latest Merchant Account comparison. Details to what it includes are in that thread.
Thanks to all the made suggestions. I have not incorporated all of them...YET. I have not forgotten about them, I simply was overwhelmed with the response I got. I will chew my way through them all.
Thanks.
