    Intel Xeon Dempsey 5050 Good for Gameservers?

    Is this a good processor for gameservers? its clocked at 3.0ghz but im not very familiar with the Dempsey line. Any help is appreciated

    would have been better if you provided a link to that spec cpu.

    thats a dual core 3.ghz processor.

    thats not bad. I would say any processor is ok really aslong as its server spec of course

    however cpu isnt the only thing to consider when it comes to game servers.

    RAM
    BANDWIDTH
    HDD

    can all determin how many slots and what type of games etc.

    Dempsey's are old, but they work. I actually have 2 5050s in CPU trays infront of me right now.

    Yea, they are pretty old but I am sure they won't be too bad. Although I would suggest looking into something that is a 53xx+.

    Yea probably, it wasn't that old It would warn if it was too old.
