    Xeon X3050 (8GB RAM + 500GB HDD) vs. Core2Duo E7400 (4GB RAM + 250GB HDD)

Just as the title shows. Which server would be better:

Singlehop - Core2Duo E7400 (Server from Singlehop DC)
    4 GB RAM
    250 GB HDD
    4 TB Transfer
    Cpanel

    $208

    VS.

Snoork Hosting - Xeon X3050 (Server from ThePlanet?
    8 GB RAM
    500 GB HDD
    2 TB Transfer
    Cpanel

    $199

The E7400 is a faster cpu but its a toss up on if you need more ram or bandwidth.

I can vouch for both companys.
    'Ripcord'ing is the only way!

Like i mentioned already in your other thread, it depends on your needs.

bandwidth and processor wise Singlehop is better. If you have a website that needs more RAM, snoork hosting would be better. The Planet too has a great network!

Go with Xeon, more RAM, abd you can always purchase bandwidth later on for a cheap price, you pay less too.

Thanks guys. I decided to go with the Xeon 3050 from Snoork Hosting since it seemed like the best deal that was within my budget range and from a reliable company, ThePlanet, which is their server provider.

Yep that is a managed server, since I do not have much experience with dedicated servers except from what I know when I'm on reseller hosting, WHM.

That is a good choice. The two processors are pretty even. The extra 4gb ram is worth more than 2tb of ram.

I'm happy you decided to choose Snoork Hosting and we look forward in doing business with you.

The Core2Duo E7400 may be a little better processor, but you have double the amount of RAM with the Intel Xeon 3050 and double the amount of hard drive space, which may benefit you more than a little bit faster processor with only 4 GB RAM.
