    Your age?

Sorry for the (slightly) off-topic thread but I feel this is the best place to put it, seeing as all the target people are likely to see it here!

I've been asked a question (via email) by someone who's at college and they wanted to know what the typical age demographic for the graphic design industry was. I replied that as I'm 'online only', I could probably only supply figures for that (if I found them at all!). So, here begins my research...(why oh, why didn't I just say sorry, I don't know!)

Please; graphic designers only...no "web designers"

Any links to external info would be appreciated and you're welcome to add comments of course.

    Thanks for your help!

Sure, I hear what you're saying but as I stated, the subject will get maximum votes here in Offers. (I personally rarely, if ever, visit the lounge).

I'm 19 ... it's almost like I'm a man, but not really because I spend all my days making websites and playing video games.

27 here, will be 28 in Dec.

Started using Photoshop with the intent to do graphic work when I was 22-ish.
    Something witty here...

Do you mean graphic or graphics? There is quite a bit of difference and I'm willing to bet most of the people here are graphics designers, using the computer as their sole medium to producing graphics, rather than what a graphic designer would do (which includes web, print, branding, and other services while not being limited to the computer as a tool).

I suspect the guy who asked the question doesn't know the difference. I was however aiming the question at graphic designers - I suppose for this purpose graphics designers should be included. No web designers though (unless of course you offer graphic design too (non out-sourced).
