    Website Load Speed

    A couple of questions.

Generally, will an otherwise identical VPS with 1,024 MB minimum ram serve identical websites faster than a VPS with 768 MB minimum ram?

Will a Litespeed webserver be faster than Apache?

    Thanks

yes and no. But general depending on content lightspeed should be faster.

Depending on RAM usage if you're only using 256MB of ram the 1024 will deliver as fast as the 768mb. However, different networks and throughput can yield faster loads. You can download faster from one host, but another host might have better throughput and give you better speeds.

Lets say a Joomla CMS or heavy PHP/Mysql site.

Ok for Joomla CMS with heavy traffic I would seriously try eaccelerator with lighthttpd as opposed to lightspeed. Both are free, easy to install and a better option to lightspeed's free edition and so would say in terms of price better than the VPS edition of lightspeed.

if you have any other questions feel free to PM me

You will need to factor in the CPU usage on the VPS node your on. Its important to see if the provider oversells and the number of VPS they put on a node and the specs of the node.

As others have said, definitely recommend Lighttpd and xcache for acceleration of php, unless you have a commercial license for litespeed.
