How to find hosting company via IP?

Does anyone know how to find a company's hosting company?

This guy is using my custom made files illegally on his website and I would like to contact his host but I don't know how to go about finding his host.

I know his IP and by running a hostname to IP search it appears that the server is at GNAX.

Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe I'll just contact GNAX.

    Thanks

    Try

    telnet ip 25

And see if that gives a hostname

It can give a bit of info. For example

    rghf@liquidfusion:~$ host eplanetdesign.com
    eplanetdesign.com has address 64.5.58.18

    rghf@liquidfusion:~$ telnet 64.5.58.18 25
    Trying 64.5.58.18...
    Connected to 64.5.58.18.
    Escape character is '^]'.

So I might guess you are hosted with gzo.com. Though as that is a private nameserver domain not to helpful but a quick google shows that is Dathorn

Have you tried doing a lookup on the domain and seeing what the nameservers are and going from there?
