Internet Explorer wav/mp3
I have a problem I can't figure out how to fix. When I click on a wav or mp3 file in a web page (using Internet Explorer) usually Windows Media Player opens and the file plays. But on my laptop for some reason I get a page with a little red X at the top left. (It looks like the file downloads completely before I get the page with the red X.) Does someone know how to fix this? I want Media Player to open.
I should mention that if I click an mp3 or wav file on my desktop Media Player opens, no problem. Only clicking on a sound file in a web page does that happen.

I don't use IE, but I think you can see if WMP is installed and enabled on your laptop:
- Open Internet Options in IE
- Click on Programs
- Then click on Manage Add-ons
- Be sure to enable Windows Media Player. It must be disabled.

Thanks for that but as I said WMP starts just fine when I click a file on my desktop, it's only when I click an mp3/wav on a web page that it won't play.

What version of WMP do you have?
Did you try in another browser (FF or Opera for example)?
