    Looking for Dedicated Server Provider

I am looking for a Dedicated server provider with good prices at least a 4 core 16gb machine..

I also need them not to null-route the first 5gb attack.. We use ethProxy and if they don't have time to respond before the null-route then what's the point of the service..

I need a good reputable server provider (not knownhost they suck with communication.)

    Any Ideas?

HostDime -> I strongly recommend when it comes to support.

Future Hosting has some nice prices & heard they are quick in support.

Whats your budget. More info on specs etc would help fellow members to suggest as well.

I'm looking at a budget of $200 that is the low end I would like to spend

The most important thing besides 4core 16 gigs is the DDOS null-route issue.. I need enough time for ethProxy to do there job..

How often do these sort of attacks happen? Dealing with regular 5Gbps attacks on any network is a pretty risky proposition for a couple hundred dollars a month. I understand you are paying ethProxy for service but their network isnt the one being affected by the attack in the meantime.

Ignore that ddos part.. after talking with ethproxy they will handle the attacks and our server provider will never see them.

So i just need a ded server with 12 gb of ram being the minimum 16gb would be better 4 core for around $200 a month?

    Hi,

I suggest you to get firewall like iptables, CSF, APF configured to protect from DDOs. Also you can use iptraf to see were is it happening from.

    I use iptables and csf.

Software firewalls can protect only "school-like" DDoS. Serious attacks can be handled only by hardware firewalls.

There are plenty of providers who will fit your budget. I would recommend for you to check out the Offers Forum and see what you find there. Then contact the provider who interests you to get further details, do some research on them, etc..

    Good luck.

If you want unmanaged, you can get a quad with 16GB DDR3 for well under $150 nowadays, maybe even 24-32GB for around $200-250. The offers forum should have some deals going on that meet your requirements.

    Just to clarify:
I am not sure if this user is an actual customer. However, if so, we do not automatically null on attacks exceeding limits. All SLA packages require us give notification and allow a customer to opt for an upgrade or null-route an attack.

It seems the OP may have updated this to reflect that but I wanted to be sure.

If you are an ethProxy customer, simply open a ticket with us regarding your issue. I am sure we can assist you with hosting likely within your budget with the bundled ethProxy service.

I did contact you all.. I have two open tickets.. I don't remember the numbers to the tickets.. I asked about a sponsorship for the service i provide and was told that you all could offer it.. and asked for server specs so you can try to price match a server (it being better to cut the attack off from a sever on your end) That was almost 2 weeks ago have not heard back..

    Ah, sponsorship is different.

We were under the impression you were paying for services, that's a little different. I do apologize - sponsored accounts are handled by management only and they haven't offered the sponsorship since we are not currently approving free accounts. We will have additional budget available in July for more sponsored accounts to be accepted. Simply check back with us then.

    Thanks again
