Which hosting company is good against DDOS attacks???

Which hosting company is good against DDOS attacks???

I have a phpnuke web site that gets DDOS attacks, almost everyday.

I would like to find and move my site to a hosting company
that is not effected by ddos atacks.( or at least can minimize it)

Can you guys refer me to a hosting company that
will ease my pain and suffer?

my recent hosting company raising my monthly fee continuosly,
because my site gets ddos attacks.

It realy bothers me that hackers can play with us so easiely
and we have to accept what ever they do.

If we don't fight back, we just make them laugh at as
that we are helpless and have no clue what to do.

most of them are lamers that have hack scripts that they use.

please do your best to help me out,
I am really frustrated right now.

    thanks

May i ask what your sites content is about? You may be atracting the hackers yourself, in which case the host has every right to raise your monthly fee.

Posting that a company has high security measures in place and that it is unvulnerable to DOS attacks, is like inviting hackers to generate such attacks.

Personally I do not think it is not ethical to charge you extra for such attacks, on the grounds that security is something the host needs to take care of and not the customer (yourself). Some of my company's customers have transfered their hosting account to us for the same reason, but we have yet to see such attacks, which prompts me to think that this is a nasty trick used by overselling hosting companies.

It wouldn't surprise me if your host offers unlimited everything or nearly unlimited resources.

My content is helping newbies to install phpnuke web sites.
my site is like a online school for young kids.
we are teaching them how to manage nuke sites, how to use mysql and how to build web sites
I really enjoy helping people and don't want hackers to stop me doing what I enjoy the most ..
my site gets avarage 2000 hits every day.
during the ddos attack, mysql gets too many requests because of ddos attack and web site goes down.
OR my hosting company suspends my site to stop ddos attacks

So any help from you guys??

Well its impossible to control DDOS attacks. Their is many host out their that have taken measures to protect themselfes from these attacks including myself. Your current/previous host should have not charged you extra for mistakes from their part.

I know that its impossible to stop ddos attacks.
but at least I need to find a new company that has better security against ddos attacks.

I do not want to suspect about my current hosting provider yet.
but how can I find out if he is telling me th truth or not ??

I am still waiting to find out if there are any hosting companies that protected against ddos attacks

I need to move my web site ASAP

There is probably no sane web hosting company that does not protect it's network against DOS attacks. It is their network and being attacked means downtime for the servers attacked.

This is what every hosting company wants to avoid. If you change host and there are no DOS attacks, then it will obviously be your current host playing dirty. Keep us informed of what happens when you move your site.

It would also be a good idea to search for reviews and comments regarding your host in WHT, or post your hosting provider.

first of all, I need your guys input to find a secure hosting
    company with good ddos protection.

my recent company says, during the ddos attacks, server slows down and he gets complains from other customers.
I guest he can not stop ddos attacks, and my site gets suspended
    to save other customers sites.
    is this a fair deal?
    what about my site ???

Sure, it is not fair for your site, but remember host want business, for most of them trouble free customer.

D/DoS Mitigation isn't cheap, or easy. So I think given that, it is fair your site got suspended, but on the flip-side your host needs to look in to mitigation techniques.

My question is, anybody knows a shared hosting company
    with mitigation techniques.???
I've invested one year and so many hours to have my site
    to be succesful ..
I do not want my hard work go down to drain because of
    some kiddie scripts and hacks.
I have an obligation to my members.. I need to provide them
    with good uptime.
I do not want to give up and I will never do that.

I see that I get no help from you guys too.

All I ask is an information to keep me going.

I am willing to pay good money to a shared hosting company
so I can invest my time to improve mysite and
not to worry everyday if my site will go down any minute.

Finding a host willing to take on you knowing that you are prone to DDoS is going to be hard. Some networks are stronger than others, always look for the medium sized companies. Those big enough to get prioity response from the datacentre, yet so commercialised they won't go beyond and above the call.

Smaller companies won't have the resources nor staff to deal with DDoS, needing a master switch is normally a sign of a larger company.

man, a hosting company needs to make money out of the customer. if you are causing them trouble, then it may sound harsh. But you are no longer economical to keep. It's the way of the world, if you are making them loose money then you have to expect to pay more.

You're going to have to either change your site domain, that should keep them away for a while or hire some goons with a ton of bots to fight back.

just remember, the guys didn't have to post. they are trying to help, just because it's not the answer you want doesn't make them wrong.

    Let me spill my guts.
I am originally from Turkey and live in U.S.A for a long time.
One year ago, I'd setup my phpnuke support site..

My goal is to provide POOR YOUNG TURKS a chance to take advantage of internet technology and learn how to design
web sites so they can make good living and have a better future.

Every day, after work, I search internet for the best information
for my members, beacuse so many of them do not understand very good english. They need someone to help them out with translations.
After sooo many years I'd had a chance to help my countryman
and I was getting great satisfaction doing this without any financial gain. I'd devoted my time free to them so they can learn
    something new..
So should I quit helping my people and be the victim of hackers?
    will hackers rule our life???
why you guys are letting this happen???

In general I would not recommend Yahoo hosting because of above-average cost per storage/traffic and below average customer support. They might be worth considering here. They are big, and at least as a network they seem to be generally free of outages.
How well that would protect you from DDOS directed against your domain, I don't know.

    Maybe these guys?

You may want to try hosting your site at Infomaniak (web.infomaniak.ch). In Europe at least they stand out against most/all other hosting companies. I think they have the best security solutions and large pipes to take DDOS. Plus they are quite inexpensive. They are one our fiercest competitors but I admire them.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I will look in to that.

I would like to ask another question.
I get harmless kiddie scripts attacks too.

If I add a code in htacces file and redirect
this attacks to an U.S goverment web site,
Can I be in trouble? or attackers get in trouble?
one of my friend advice me to this.
but I would like to get your guys opinion on this.
I do not want to do something illegal.
    please let me know guys.

Hmmm... I wouldn't do that. It's probably not too polite to pass on to others the s*** that cheap hackers are tossing at your site. Your IP would be logged and you would be asked to justify redirecting hackers to some all-important governmental web site.

When I searched around for a host, I saw EV1 and Ezzi both proclaimed their anti-DDOS capabilities at the switch level. EV1 didn't say too much except that they had spent a lot of fancy hardware that would drop the DOS packets before it reached the 'inner' network using a thing called 'FireSlayer'.

Ezzi went into a little morte detail, in that they'd bought Juniper routers that had this capability built in (http://www.juniper.net/products/integrated/dos.html). I guess the more modern switch hardware can mitigate DDOS attacks.

You can install antidos, but that really isn't too effective as the packets are already at your server at that point, but every little helps IMHO.

I suppose you could contact an ezzi reseller (plenty on the advert forums) that has this service enabled.. but please be honest with them from the start

Most of them do shared hosting as well as dedicated.
