    BestofData review (dediboxworld)

Well, I ordered the server Friday night, last week. I got the SSH info in one hour, and an hour later I got the DirectAdmin info. (they needed the license from DA). Ordering process was easy.

It was running good until I messed up DA, so I requested a reinstall. It took around 16hours for it to be done.

I've been pushing good bandwidth, and the server is pretty good for the price. (Right now I have a community running on the server with many users)

One site I host on here is reyreythemonkey.com .
Its good for shoutcasting.. and many high bandwidth applications.

Look at my attached MRTG graph..

Hope this helps for potential buyers.

Good review. We have a few boxes from them, (for our customers) and everyone is happy with them and the network.

Lets hope they stay like that.

I too have a box with them.

Other than dedibox.fr capping the connection during peak hours I love every moment of being a customer with them.

Those VIA processors really pack a punch too.

    My MRTG Graph is attached.

The first day I got the server, it was capped at 30mbit. But recently during these days, it hasn't been capped.. I've been pushing more than 30mbit during the French "peak" hours. Its awesome being able to pushing 2 TB of traffic or more with a $60 server

It seems to be capped from 16:00-00:00 CEST.. which is the peak for America :-)

I can push 80Mbit at anytime except for those times

30mbit, 3000kb/s is still extremely reasonable. The server is $60 with potential upto 100mbits *unmetered* which is a great deal. I have one from a reseller and have nothing but praise for them!

Ahh so its not just me hehe. Good to hear

I wondered why mine was going so slow @ times. There are times when I cannot believe how incredibly fast this is for what I paid so all in all I am very happy as well.

I have not been able to figure out the timeframe its capped but thanks to the above poster for the time reference.

For my first server I love it. If the cap stays in place there are other places I can try, this is why I like this forum I already have others lined up in my head

    Thanks for the review..........

Their processors are amazingly crappy though.
I think the VIA C7 2 GHz is compareable to a 1.3 Ghz P3 so that definitely limits the usability.

At what point would such a processor become a problem?

Actually 30mbit is closer to 3700kb/sec.

The moment you try to run PHP or MySQL-intensive applications.

We are *not* a reseller. We own our servers, switches, routers and racks.

Cap is now, 20Mbit 24/7 It's changed since yesterday.

EU traffic still seems uncapped though.

Support, and server deployment is excellent. Just the cap which is in the way.

For some reason the 20mbit cap doesn't apply to me.. or atleast right now it isn't. I just opened up 36 instances of wget on a 256mb test file.. (which is in layered tech dc) and i'm at 35mbit :/ .. I'll post mrtg graph in a bit.

BTW, i'm in the 88.191.36.*** range

I've uploaded graphs from 3 out of my 6 boxes.
One of the boxes just got online earlier today and is already capped.

Nearly all of the traffic is to the US. I don't believe EU traffic is capped however, not sure.

...why? Compile it, use the configuration generator and you're done.

I should've made myself a little more clearer. I don't know how to get the smnpd working and able to be read by MRTG.

    Hello WHT Members,

Please enter this command (SSH) - Only Linux:
    echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_timestamps

This command removes normally this actual cap (25-50Mbps).
