Lost power today was bad
We lost power in the office today for about 6 hours. Was bad I am kind of scared of the dark.
Anyone here carry backup generators ?
Would have been nice. We had those horrible halogen emergency lights that made it look like an horrible horror film.Sometimes life seems like a dream, especially when I look down and see that I forgot to put on my pants

No windows? Or was this during the evening? Well... I guess it'd be an office building with halls and cubicles. Did you stay working in the office while power was out? Just wondering.

There was only about 4 people in the office 6 if you include the security installers.
O ya we are having badges made that get you in and out of the building now that will be really cool.
But pretty much everyone went out to smoke for a minute then we went to the mall for about 2 hours =)Sometimes life seems like a dream, especially when I look down and see that I forgot to put on my pants

MarcD, You wouldn't happen to be in seattle, would you?
We had a power failure up in Bellingham here this morning, but it was only for about 15 minutes. It's nice to know the servers are on a generator though!

We have this one: http://www.hondashop.com/eg5000.htm
and have used it, worked great, hooked up to the UPS system, so they never died and kept on powering the equipment plus cleaned the power as the generators are not to electronic spec. Those get expensive. Now all my equipment is in a NOC with much larger UPS systems and larger generators. 2 powergrids as well, so not much can take it down.Neon Rain Interactive
