    Talking

I propose the bar for gods be raised to be 300 posts
But that all current gods stay gods.

And that the new plan be implemented after I become a god (stickler in my proposal)

what do you think? ... lol

    Slow day David?

In all seriousness, I've floated a proposal to SysAdmin to bump up each of the status levels to more accurately reflect the growth that WHT's undergone. You'll hear more about it once I get some feedback from Matt in the next few days.

It doesn't even mean you're smart, just that you talk (or type) a lot.

All this talk about godhood has been a bit cute, but let us remember that quality is far more important than accuracy.

    [serious face on]
The god label is actually stupid and means nothing, one of the reasons I objected to it when they were proposed. Think about it, god, what does it mean? Can anybody define it as it might apply to any of us?

I think it was Samuel Johnson who said "Knowledge is of two types, we know a thing ourselves or we know where to find information upon it."

If you consider that "guru" means "one who sheds light, who dispels darkness", perhaps instead of god, "beacon" would be a better term. It is one who sheds a lot of light, and people are drawn to it.

    [serious face off]
