Remote access to MySQL server
Hi!
I have DirectAdmin ded server, and have a security related doubt.
Do you consider safe to allow remote access to port 3306?
The legal use would be to access the server remotely via ODBC,
but what worries me are the non legal uses... password guessing, etc

The question is, do you trust the user in question? If so, then grant their IP access, and only their IP.
I would advise that you get them to sign a bit of paperwork and scan their ID as a form of signing. That way if something goes wrong, you can easily deal with it from a legal-standpoint.
