How to create a secure email for my classroom?

    Hello,

We were using Gmail but somebody that knows our password is always deleting emails when we really need it...

I would like to know what do I need to forward emails to everybody when a new email comes...

Like we give an email to the teacher: classroom1@school.com

And every email that comes to classroom1@school.com is forwarded to all 40 classmate emails.

I need some security options like people should not be able to delete emails or change the email configuration... But I think they will need to enter to the principal email for emergency or to send email in the name of the classroom...

*The service should be good, always on and fast. Itīs better If free (like Google and Yahoo) because I think people will not like to spend money with this.

I have intermediary experience with web hosting management but not an expert so I need advise of web hosting providers, softwares etc...

And the system may have a appealing interface to attract people or they will find other alternatives...

I have some new sites hosted with Hostgator but in their mailing list they only allow 25 members and I also donīt know if it works the way I explained.

    Thanks.

You could set up a whole bunch of forwards or use a server launguage/database that once an email is received it will forward to a whole bunch of other addresses.

    Hi,

    Thanks for answer,

What email provider/company should I use to do it?

And how can people enter to the main email account without being able to delete emails to just send/reply emails in the name of the classroom?

    Hello,
Most email systems support mailing lists/groups. I would try that first

hmmm... I think it will fit to my needs. The only thing I need is to register a domain name and apply for Google Apps for School? Do I need to be a staff of my university or as a student I can get an account?

    Hi,

I was looking and I need to be related to the university to create an account at Google Apps... not just a student...

    Does somebody have more suggestions?

    Free or cheap preferably...

I think I only need a simple email that redirects to 40 people of my classroom and a web based email to people enter in emergency...

I have run a Yahoo! Group for years. It's simple to use and reasonably secure. Everyone will have their own account and password, and nobody but you will be able to delete any of your messages.

    Best of all, it's FREE!
