My servers with them are down.

I phoned them, they are having problems with a router and expect about another 15 - 20 minutes of downtime.

Yeah, I can't reach my site. However, I'm able to reach servint.com, and watcher's site. But alerta is showing my website as loading in frankfurt, germany, but dead in detroit.

That'd explain why I'm still down.

Not all routes were affected. I have a monitoring server at Superb and it never reported any servers down because the route between Superb and Servint was never broken. After the 209.50 IP addresses came back I could see that certain ISPs were still able to access the websites even though my ISP (Covad) could not.

I also noticed that the route changed, it's now going through Alter.net instead of Global Crossing.

Me too. I had always gone through NAC (With Covad in NE Ohio), now I'm going through Alter also.

I have monitoring on a local machine here that caught the outage and sent out the alarm. If it wasn't for that I probably wouldn't have caught it.

I was going through both GBLX and NAC and now I am also going through alter.net. Very quick work from ServInt.

Well I wasn't done for almost an hour, more like 20 minutes. I would also suggest that perhaps you just don't realize how major this hardware failure was. I have seen similar issues take datacenters offline for hours, just read through this Outage forum and see for yourself.

Hardware failures happen, it is how quickly they are overcome that makes the difference....

My 4 servers were down for 55 minutes, no doubts about it. I wa watching and tracerouting the whole time. Mine are all in the 216.22 or 216.0 blocks.

Did they respond quickly? I'm sure. Is servint a good company, no doubt - I like them a lot.

However an hour downtime is a lot. Servint charges a premium (tho small) and one expects a little more for that.

Yes, sites with IP addresses in the 216.22.1 IP block are not resolving.
