Question Best travel agency to book vacation to Mexico?

    Hello,

My wife and I would like to book a vacation to Mexico, but we're not sure what is the best way to do it.

(We live overseas, and will be visiting family in North America for 3 months in the summer. During that time, we'll dump our kids with our parents and then have a week to ourselves!!)

My wife has narrowed the choice of destinations to either Puerta Viarta or Cabo San Lucas. She wants to stay at an all-inclusive place.

(She already decided this, and for a lot of reasons those are the two final choices of location. We aren't interested in hearing about other places.)

So now we're just not sure how to actually book the vacation.

Can anyone recommend a good travel agency we can use online?

    Thanks!

    ie:

Should we just go to travelocity.com, find a resort we like, and that's it?

Or is it better to use a "real" travel agent?

If you're only booking one spot, I'd recommend you use a website to book them. Seems like the extra travel costs of a travel agent wouldn't really be necessary.

In my experience, a travel agent is really only worth it if you are traveling to multiple locations and need to coordinate multiple flights/cars/hotels.

I'd like to second this. Another thing that they're good at is cruises. Since most of the time you need air fare to get to the boat etc.

Third this. Cruise lines seem to offer travel agent-only offers that help to level the costs between the various options. Airlines and hotels (and resorts?) don't appear to routinely offer this kind of tiered pricing.
