I'm looking for an Merchant account who accepts non US companies, with low rates.

    Hi

I'm looking for an Merchant account who accepts non US companies, with low rates. The rated needs to be as low as possible! I'm from Holland, and I don't want PaySystems 2checkout, they have to expensive rates. And I want my own company name on the CreditCard statement of the customers.

I need recuring billing per year and per month.
    Low chargeback fees.
Payment fees approximately 30/35 cents, and approximately
    2.15 %. I don't care about the set-up and the monthly fees.
And Easy to integrate//implement into the website.
    A Backend System for maintenance.
    And good support.

    Easy to set/start up.
And I on't want to do difficult things, they handle the payments, the have the gateway, the processing software, etcetera.

    Thanks in advance

    Ow yes, maybe if it's only possible for me to get a good Merchant Account with nice fees/rates, I think I have to start-up an US company only for my CreditCard processing. And than this company will act almost like an merchant account provider, and will forward all the payments to me. And makes a little bit of profit, to keep the IRS happy (-;

Is it easy to start-up(register) an company in the USA? (What do I need?)

Is it than also possible to get an authorize.net license for the gateway? And if so, what do I need to process payments? What for software, services?

    And:

    - A secure payment gateway

    - A web-based Merchant Control Center

    - Real-time and batch processing

    - Chargeback and fraud management tools

    - No maximum processing volume

    - Multi-currency processing (EUR/USD/CAD/AUD/GBP)

    - Advanced bank-level security and encryption systems

You should consider incorporating in Delaware. There is no state income tax there.

We set up someone recently who is from Russia & has incorporated in DE. He has a US bank account & the money from his processing online is deposited into that bank account. He then transfers it out as needed to his bank in Russia.

The only thing that might be difficult is getting a bank account in the US. With the Patriot Act & a few other legislations in place - this might pose a problem. Check out http://www.corporate.com/ for some information as well.

As far as processing volume - you will be asked what do you anticipate on charging. Be honest. If it is $1 million per month, say so. And if it is going to be this high, have the financials to back it. It you think it is going to be about $50,000 - put that. If you are going to go over tha amount - than you need to contact the Risk Department of whatever company you choose just to let them know so that nothing happens.

There are only a few that offer the web based merchant control center - or should I ask - what do you mean? Do you mean a virtual terminal or a site that you can go to to review a previous month, download data?

And most gateways also support international transactions these days.

I am not certain about authorizenet.com - only the Linkpoint International Gateway.

-- >I'm able to get verry easy an: Delaware Corporation or an Nevada Corporation.

---> Yes that is what I mean: to review the data and everything.

--> I need a good merchant account where I am able to deposit the processed money in Euros to an Euro BankAccount in the US.
(I think it's possible to get an Euro BankAccount in the US, I can also get USD BankAccounts overhere.) But I want to use as standard currency EUROS.

Why should it be difficult to get an US BankAccount?
I think I will get an BankAccount with ING or ABN AMRO.

Most US merchant accounts can handle the international exchange rates, no problems. But one thing to keep in mind - the exchange rates are constantly changing. So for example, if they purchase something for $100.00 from you at this time & they are using the Euro the total is $80.66. But when you close out the batch tonight, it might be $81.00 or it might be $80.00

Once you get the business - it is usually easier to get the bank account

Do you have partners or only one? We are an LLC. It mainly depends on your business practice / partners.

    Here are some good disadvantages/advantages:

BTW, Inc is an abbrev. of Incorporated, and to incorporate is to form a Legal Corporation.

Well at this moment only Myself.
I'm only thinking of to start-up an US company is to get a good/reliable Merchant Account with low rates.

So this company will act like an Merchant Account Provider, but has only my own Merchant Account. Than I will forward all the processed money to another (offshore )account.

Or this company will act like the seller of my product/service, and the Offshore Company will send an Invoice to this US company, and this US company will simply pay this invoice. The money will go to an offshore account. And the US company will only make a little bit of profit.

You might consider an LLC. That does help some individuals. I know that that is what one of my companies is - but I do not know all that much about it. Actually went to a seminar last year about LLC, S-Corp, but I cannot find my paperwork on it anymore.

The company you incorporate in DE will be the company that you apply for a merchant account. The CC processor along with the gateway, will ge the money to your bank account that you set up in the company name. Then it will be up to you to get the money from the US bank to your bank. This company will "act" like the seller of your product basically. You can still e-mail your customers & even get an 800# that will transfer to an overseas number if you get to be that busy.

The charges incurred on a monthly basis by the merchant account will be pulled from the bank account on record.

    --> e-onlinedata

Business located within the United States (U.S.)
Federal Tax ID# (For US and Canadian Corporations only)
    Your U.S. Social Security Number
U.S. business checking account and routing numbers
One trade reference including phone number (a company you purchase from)
You must be 18 years of age to be eligible to apply for an Internet Certified merchant account

I'm not a US citizen, so even if I get a Delaware Corp, I'm not able to get an Merchant Account with e-onlinedata.
Anyone overhere that knows some reliable alternatives?

Well there are some companies out there do not not require a US social or Driver's License number for overseas merchants. The rates are a little bit higher (3.32% & $.30 transaction) & there is about a 5 day turn around since you are overseas. The reason being is that since you are overseas it is a little more difficult to get in contact with you. But as long as you have the Federal TAX ID number which is easily obtained after you incoporate, a US mailing address & a US bank account - you are OK with some companies. (The person that helps you to incorporate should be able to help you obtain the TAX ID & the US business address

I did not know until now you were speaking about one - e-onlinedata. I am not too familiar with them. I am only famailar with certain other credit card processors and gateways.

Ow I just like e-onlinedata, I'm just looking to several providers.

In Belgie er is ogone.be, men spreekt nederlands ook...
(ik ben niet een klant van ogone.be, ik can niet zegen afof ze goed of slecht zijn)
As for opening a US bank account, it is not so easy. You need a green card or some residence permit (H2-b etc) to open a US savings or checking account (from my own experience with Wells Fargo and CitiBank). That was before 9/11... now they will take your adn and scan your eyes
They need your Social Security Number, that you get when are resident in the US, your green card, plus a third ID (passport, driving licence). There may be other procedure if you want to get a foreign bank account in a US bank, but I am almost sure that the requirements will be even more tight. There want to be sure funds are legal and stuff. A US bank account in an other currency than US dollar, ... I doubt very much! Countries deal in their national currency. They hardly know that the Euro exists...
You might find a better deal than you think... nearer your place.
Forget about Nevada, Delaware, that is for laundering illegal stuff or casino monkey business (joke) Then go to Cayman islands :0)))
I am not expert at all, and I am also looking for a (simple) cc procesor

But it looks as if e-onlinedata cannot provde you what you need dutchee.

Actually netgogo - they do not need a social. If you really want to get legal - they are not allowed to ask for a social security wehn you open a checking account. There is an old law on the books - when the social security system was developed.

    keep it simple

I had to show my Social Security card when I opened a CityBank account + green card + passport. They take photocopies...
First hand info. They are picky, they cited Anti-laundering laws (no problem I have nothing to hide).
If you are US citizen, then perhaps they ask less (actually I cannot see what less they would ask?)
Tax ID number instead of SSN perhaps.
With this new world situation I am sure it gets even more tight.
Why not keep things simple? In Europe we have the Euro, the banking transfers between euro-zone countries are since July 1st the same as for a local bank transfer, so things improve in our old Europe. Nederlands is in Euro, so why arrange complicated things? Go to your bank see your banker, ask, you will be amazed to see that there may be some good solutions too...
(it's true that there are less online cc processor options)

Well they do ask you for an SSN. But if the issue is pushed - they usually drop it. When the SS was developed a long time ago, it was created for one particular purpose & now though everyone uses the SSN to identify you - which is actually illegal in itself.

There are a couple of groups in America that try to preserve the social security system this way - and no I am not one of them. I have met a few of them & just found it very interesting.

Yes I think I can get easy an account at ING or ABN AMRO.
And I talked to a Guy from India and he has also an BankAccount and MErchant Account, and no US Social Security Number, so I guess e-onlinedata sucks BIG time.

  21. #21
Yes I know there are GREAT CC processors overhere.
And the banks overhere have also Merchant Accounts, but they are to expensive with the transaction fees. They ask 50 Eurocents, or more, that's to much, so that's the reasom why I'm looking for an UC MerchantAccount, BIBIT/WorldPay, and other are to expensive.

Yes WireTransfer from Euro to Euro country is FREE, no fees, and we have Internation Bank Account Numbers.

But NetGogo, it's also possible for me to get USD BankAccounts overhere in The Netherlands, so I think I can get an Euro BankAcount in the US to.

Well I gave you a few options in one of my repsonses in what one processor that I know requires. But every processor is different & they all request different things. Never heard of one though want a reference like that until now though.

  23. #23

--> Transaction Fee of www.ogone.be is cheaper than the transaction fee of www.bibit.com

  24. #24
    Ha! ogone! see

In US system, things seem easier and are sometimes easier that's true. But not always... don't underestimate the currency exchange problems, euro-dollar rates change a lot, now 1.24 (!).
The difference between 0.35 and 0.45 per transaction is probably not worth the trouble (depends) of floating exchange rates.
Also, the wiring of funds from US to Europe costs (bank make their profit...) even if in same currency (Euro account in US which I don't know exists?). The US system uses routing number and Europe IBAN/BIC, so they settle to "common" swift (i think)=costs involved. See 2CheckOut wire transfer fees (crazy!), even if you can get lower fees probably I believe.
US has 10000$ limit transfer in one time (or need to explain things with customs, tax etc.). It should be OK in most cases
    Taxation issues also involved...
It could still be interesting if you make big business (I hope for you). But if you make big business, believe me, your bank will roll a red carpet for having ebusiness with you... they will arrange a .30 rate without problem I am almost sure.

I tried to figure out if PaySystems, which handdles Euros as well, could arrange IBAN transfer of funds to my eurozone account... they said no (for the moment). They wire funds (10$) or send (for free) checks in Euros (they said)... so it is not that bad I think.
Also, some day, as they have a german branch office, it is most probable that they might arrange some day inter-euro banking with iban system, so there would be no fees!

Good luck in your search. I would be interested to know if you find interesting solutions as I am also consider all these questions.

    P.S. http://www.ogone.be/ncol/ogone_index.asp?LV1=&LV2=&LV3=

PPS. Social Security issue: I did not know about all the controversy about it beeing a valid ID or not. But in the US, american citizens have no ID like in most countries in Europe (even UK will get to have ID!). So drivers licence is ID de facto.
Problem with driving licence: any tourist or illegal can get one (at least in some states). That's the loophole used by the 911 guys...
Only 13% of americans have a passport... (40% of US senators only...) Might be a problem somewhere?
In an ideal world of course no one would need ID. And governments like to control things, me too I don't like that because it goes too far. At some point it becomes a Police state...
