    * Need VPS server with remote desktop

Hello, im in need of a Windows or Linux VPS server that will let me use remote desktop, and if using linux, install wine.

my budget is very low but critics aside i know it can be done

Any ideas on some cheap (under $10) places i can either get a cheap windows vps or a linux vps with remote desktop installed.

    Location: anywhere
    specs: minimum
bandwidth: maybe 30gb a month, speed not important

i dont care if its on a slow oversold server, so long as its accessable.

Finding a windows vps for under $10.00/month will be touch especially with the licensing cost. Your best bet like you mentioned earlier will be a linux vps. Did you have any requirements for diskspace?

You should be able to find a linux VPS for your budget. Which application do you plan do install after that? Is it supported by WINE?

Only choice is Linux VPS. You can run a remote desktop having 700mb ram. Then if you want to run exe files, there's always wine.

With budget < $10, i'd suggest you to opt for openvz vps and install freenx. That work pretty good and smooth, just like RDP.

Honestly, for windows, hardly you can get one.

Honestly, budget is far too low, even for cheap junk servers.

ThrustVPS has some good affordable Windows options. There's also a good Fedora KDE Desktop floating around, if they don't have it (can't remember without looking) you can use your own image.

For $10 you might be better off just looking for a terminal services account, if people still sell them...

The OS for Windows/Ubuntu (desktop) require too many resources such as RAM, to make $10 a feasible sale price.

...except for the provider I mentioned that has 0.5G or 1G for 7.95 / 14.95, respectively, on Xen HVM w/ Windows Srv 2K8. If it sucks, you're out a 10 spot avg.

Alternately, I've ran many, many less-then-10-buck VPSs with *nix +X+VNC, 1G will probably do fine running some wine. Just don't get too crazy. Lowendbox.com has a good list of budget providers and feedback.

To get a VPS at that price keep an eye on the VPS offers section and http://lowendbox.com/ Its also a good idea to only pay monthly so if the provider go under you wont lose to much money.

I guess ill keep my eye out. Ive tryed a linux box the provider said it would run with 256mb ram and 512 burst but it wouldnt! and i asked for a refund ($3) and they got arsey, but its only $3 that was dme hosting btw. i use lowendbox alot, because i have lots of projects that could use this sort of thing. i dont know if my apps are supported by wine. I'll find a solution soon, thanks for your reply,s but if you see anything that might suit please let me know!
