Dreamhost or something other ?
Hey again me with frustrated problem witch hositng is good for me.
I have this site: www.guistyles.com
I want to have also forum, other wordpress blogs and other systems to test or so.
Now what i want is to be fast and with no problems.
That i have at least 5GB, multi domain, free domain to url forwarding and other stuff like that... actually all host are pretty good.
So i want to start with Dreamhost, http://www.dreamhost.com/
and with 97$ less promotion.
But i read about problems with sql bases, the speed of working, well i see many pages that work good.
But i want to have a good hositng for the $ i paid, fast and proffesional.
So i read and found this other hosting company :
The list is long, could you help me to delete some companies, make the list more rare, only the best.
The price for hositng, less is better , for dreamhost i pay 20$ for a year.
I could gave to < 10$ per month , but this should be great hosting, to pay this 10$.
This is the list :

http://www.hostingzoom.com/web-hosting.html
https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosti...?se=%2B&ci=260
http://www.site5.com/hosting/comparison.php
http://www.bluehost.com/tell_me_more.html
Plus, minus your opinions.... Please help me !

2. Hostingzooming - i am currently their client and i am very happy, uptime, speed and support are excellent.
3. Godaddy - is only to buy domains, not good for hosting
4. Site5 - People here like them and they have mostly good reviews, but i think they massively oversell their servers(which is a bad thing in general).
5. Bluehost - again, this host have mixed reviews, but i still think that 250gb transfer for less than 10$ is overselling.

I've read some really bad things here about 1and1 and about GoDaddy hosting.
Site5 I hear is good and Dreamhost does something funky with their disk space allottment when you buy an account with them. Like they only give you so much at a time and you have to ask them to raise your limit or something.
Make sure you read all the fine print wherever you go....

I can only say that 1+1 has a poor reputation from what I've seen...
GoDaddy's hosting has many critics....
BlueHost has a mixed bag of reviews, as noted.
You can search yourself for posts on all those companies.
Good Luck!

I would stay away from GoDaddy and DreamHost. Just do a search for them on here and you will see their negative reviews.
NEW Hosting solution coming soon....

Not trying to confuse you here, but I've had mostly positive run with Dreamhost. The server I'm on is stable and the speed has been decent. I also have pretty good discounts, so cannot really complain. And what I've seen, it feels like a good company.
Control panel is different, but better GUI than cPanel IMO. They have possibility to give other people to access to control panel so that they can mess with their own (sub)domain. Not as many "one-click installs" as fantastico. Stats overally bit lacking and they're using Analog (ugh!). Easy to use domain configuration. Truly unlimited domains, insane amount of shell accounts. Streaming server support (Quicktime etc).
Not the fastest host to reply to tickets, but reasonably fast. They've had some problems with MySQL servers, but I've seen nothing too bad. Some people have complained that the speed has not been good lately. Don't know about that.
But the bottom line: you can try this for 20$/year? I say go for it.

I recently opened an account with DreamHost (I didn't really need it, but heck, it's only $20 )
So far I have been very impressed. There was initially a problem with the purchase (apparently it didn't go through, but I had still made the payment. Fortunately Dreamhost's billing panel was so seamless that I just had to complete the registration process again. I even saved $2 with a better coupon I found, and I was able to donate that $2 that was already on my account to FreeBSD- which dreamhost matched) but other than that, I love the control panel, my site loads quickly, etc etc.
I haven't been with them long enough to judge their actual server performance though, but I know several people that have (see: http://www.halobabies.net)
Site5 is excellent IMHO
1&1 has surprisingly reliable service, but terrible support and features. GoDaddy I have no experience, but have heard many a bad thing.
Bluehost has decent reviews, but no one mans the support center overnight or during certain holidays.
Site5 and Dreamhost are my obvious recommendations, but you should still search WHT and get some more feedback before you make a purchase...unless you're getting dreamhost, in which case I would just suck it up and drop the $20.

My site is hosted on Dreamhost. The only issue is that we are consistently coming close to the max (and unadvertised) clock cycle usage for a virtual host. Be very aware, not only of how much traffic you use, but also how much power it takes to serve that traffic. Our issue isn't capacity as much as it is server 'strain'.

Thanx for comments.
So DreamHost or Site5.
About searching, i read alot, and i don't want to search more because on the hosting company and one person told it is good and other have problems.
Plus for the Site5 is that
True MultiSite™ - Multiple FULL Websites http://www.site5.com/images/exbttn.gif
But i do't know if it so good for me.
As Dreamhost and site5 have the same superb hosing plan:
good space, hositng multiply domains, pages , sql bases unlimited ....
The only diffrent is the price with dreamhost.
Now i am going read more about site5, is it so perfect ?

3. After the 30 days with Site5 (60 days in total), decide which host you would prefer to stay with and cancel the account with the other.
Site5 have a 60 day money back guarantee, Dreamhost 97 days - so there is plenty of time to consider and compare.
This must be a better way forward than relying on other people's experience.

Some staff person from Site5 responded to my concerns about this - said she or he would talk to some higher-up dude at Site5 and see if they could re-word that part. Haven't heard any more about that, though, so who knows what's up there. My guess is that nothing will change in the terms of service, but I'd love to be proven wrong on that.
My advice is to a) read reviews here on any company that interests you, then b) read the terms of service that company requiires users to agree to. And c) be prepared to jump ship and go to another webhosting company if you're not happy.

Site5: seems like a good deal. I've had some weird problems with wrong default settings, but no "show stoppers". Especially since their support is pretty fast.
Paying: "Site5 does not accept PayPal at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience." EDIT: I believe they have the policy to return your "unused" pre-payment if you cancel after the 60-day period.Last edited by nettiapina; 01-01-2006 at 06:59 AM.

Out of your list I would recommend site5 as they have a good reputation in WHT and I would also recommend Lunapages.com for your list.
As for the kapina's concern about the CPU usage one should remember that some servers can run very stable with CPU loads as high as 10 and some servers are not stable even at 5. So its difficult to say who & who is overselling only looking at the server loads without considering the hardware being used.[DC'S] SINGAPORE. AUSTRALIA. JAPAN. INDIA. CHINA HK. USA. UK.
