Need helping with my speed test!
I have a potential client that needs a bunch of statistical info that I don't have. One of those would be averages of real world throughput to various parts of the united states and other countries. I have a request for my friends at WHT!
Can you please go to the following link, run my quick speed test, and post your results back here. Please include the rated speed of whatever connection you are using, and where you are located (city, state would be great).
I would prefer it was ran 2-3 times, with the best posted here.

DOWN 2.73mbps
UP 0.38mbps
Italy, residential line; a test run from servers would give more accurate results

From Los Angeles
Best results of three:
46.36 down
37.10 up
I can tell you right now that mini test is not the same way that speedtest.net itself uses. I actually host the LA speedtest.net server off my colo'd machine and using the mini test I got:
83.45 down
58.86 up
However, doing it on speedtest.net yields:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1586428064.png
This is to the exact same server on both tests.
Actual connection speed is ~155 down 75 up.
A better/higher capacity test (IMHO) is running an ndt server which is open source/free and runs a timed test instead of set amounts of data. VZ uses this software for their own speed test server and it gives me the most accurate results:
