    How to monitor?

So I was wondering how you guys monitor server specific bandwidth usage for your clients. I've been wanting to get some sort of system setup to do so but I have no clue where to start.

We use RTG, as it is very flexible. Had to make a few changes to it, but it's simple and solid.

Take a look at the package from Ubersmith. If you don't have a way to bill customers just yet - it will monitor and bill according to bandwidth usage.

    +1 for Observium,

    Monitors everything, PDU's, Switches ECT.

Doesn't bill, but there is experimental functionality that would make it really easy to plug into WHMCS or HostBill.

We tried and still have SNMP based monitoring but we moved billing over to netflow as we wanted to offer destination based billing, where traffic saying inside our datacenters was not billed, data going datacenter to datacenter was cheaper than internet traffic.
