    Most people have mobiles.

I remember when I was a child I was forced to wear my first watch on my right hand. I really wondered what could be the reason

Even though I have my phone as well, I still always wear a watch - it's much easier to glance at. I've also always had it on my left hand, and it's almost become habitual to look there for the time (if it's not there, it feels weird).

Way back when, watches were manually wound to run, and the stem you wind it with was on the side towards your hand. This made it comfortable to wind with the opposite hand without removing it from your wrist.

I think it was worn on the left wrist because right hand was more used while working which could damage the watch easily.

this and other now-irrelevant stuff are reminiscent of 19th century during which a lot of the upstuck behavioral crap has been developed.

    most of them are bullsh@t.

    Ahh, that makes sense.

I assumed it was similar to the different button sides in shirts (men's versus women's shirts, and the way that women's shirts have buttons on the opposite side).

I always wear a watch even though I have a mobile. It's one of those things I don't leave home without. Watch, check. Mobile, check. Wallet, check. Keys, check. Then I'm sweet !

I wear it on my left because I'm right handed. Easier that way.

I wear my watch on my left wrist because on my right wrist it gets in the way of my day to day tasks.

Makes sense that right-handed person wears it on the left and vice-versa, why why do women wear it on the right?

Because women are always looking at the mirror when dressing up and they think their right hand is the left hand.

Btw have you seen some weird people wearing the watch with the dial on the inside of the wrist..
