Well, whatever it is, I hope it was designed with DR in mind, otherwise its a very large pigeon hole potentially. Curious to see the details when they're posted, 500TB is a lot of data.

That being said, if it were me I would run the 4300's in a VC. I would run OSPF from MX80 > EX4300 over a lag...

There are boxes that are designed to isolate noise from switches or audio equipment. Usually they're small 10u cabinet type setups. I'm not sure you're going to find a zero noise, classroom oriented...

The 4300 is on the new generation of silicon, and I know you can't VC them to the previous gen so that might be related, dunno.

Anyway, most everyone I know thats used MC-LAG had major headache.

I've pretty much only run it in two member configurations -- its helpful for creating lags spanning both switches to present as one interface to downstream clients at bare minimum. I hate non LACP...
