Liquid Web has more expercience but the costs are more than Myriad Network
Myriad is fantastic. They have my thumbs up.
How so?Quote:

Having dealt with both a LiquidWeb and MyriadNetwork VPS, I can safely say Myriad's VPS is a good 200-300% faster. However, it's possible that LiquidWeb is closer to Myriad at this point considering they are probably deploying new nodes with VZ3 (hopefully), but I would still have to say Myriad is faster and offers better bang for the buck. One advantage I see to LiquidWeb is that management is included within the starting price, but if you don't need management, I would lean towards Myriad. Also, Myriad offers DirectAdmin which allows a user to make better use of the available resources (DA is much more streamlined than cPanel). Furthermore, it is more flexible and will easily allow Apache 2.2.4, etc. I do not believe LiquidWeb offers DirectAdmin.
To further expand on this, Myriad also happens to be located in Ashburn, VA [Equinix], whereas LiquidWeb is located in Lansing, MI. Ashburn is a tier-1 city (and arguably the [or at least one of] largest peering point(s) in the US), while Lansing is not. LiquidWeb backhauls connectivity from surrounding regions, increasing latency and reducing performance.
Hi Layer0,
Good talking to you again my friend.
That's pretty close to the same setup we have but one of the unknowns in the above spec's are how many virtual environments are on each machine. I/O is always the problem on VPS's. Are they using Virtuozzo?
We are doing test deployments of VZ3 but also looking closely and XEN. Do you have any experience w/ the recent releases of Xen?
Better hurry guys, VZ4 isn't too far out. :mad:Quote:

As far as the number of VEs on each node - the answer is the same we give to our potential customers when they ask, and that is: it depends. More VEs can be placed on nodes with customers who use less resources than others. We have 1 node with only about 5 customers on it due to their resource usage. Defining a number of VEs to place on one node is not wise in my opinion, unless you aren't continually monitoring the resource usage of your customers and aren't concerned about the quality of their service.
Thanks to all of our customers who have posted in support of Myriad Network, it really means a lot to us all, and keeps us confident that we are still achieving our goals in this industry!
I hope LW does something soon.
The one VPS I have with them comes to a crawl now at least once or twice a week and each time I call in it is always because someboby elses instance on the server is spiking the CPU bringing all the other instances down in the process. This of course people tell you is not supposed to happen but it does.
It makes my instance start delaying email, can't shell or log in to cpanel or ssh and any site that used Mysql pretty much crawls.
I love LW but lateley the performance on the VPS2 package I've got has really been bad.

I'm sure he's only referring to the fact that you guys opened in 2000 and we opened in 1997. Not a big deal I'm sure :)Quote:
