Transferring a domain but not the name servers
Hello,
I have this situation:
I have a domain with RegisterFly/Enom. I have edited the DNS records for the A and MX records to point to my web and mail servers. Both services are live.
Suppose I now transfer this domain to another registrar, let us say NetSol. As I understand it, even after the transfer is successful, the nameservers of the domain will still be those of Enom and there will be no interruption in service. Is my understanding correct?
If yes, will the control panel at NetSol allow me to make subsequent changes to DNS entries -- say adding an A record --, even though they are stored on Enom name servers and not on NetSol's own nameservers? Or would I first have to change the nameservers to those of NetSol? Wouldn't that entail a nameserver-change downtime of "24 to 36 hours" of my web and mail services?
