Looking for a low end windows server
I'm looking into setting up a shoutcast server, but i've found that the unix shoutast transcoder does not work as well as the official shoutcast winamp DSP / Sam Broadscaster. So, I'm looking to pick up a windows server for this little project.
The server won't have to be really high-end. I'd like to start with a 10mbps line, and upgrade to 100mbps, and finally a gigabit line as the stream grows. Memory, i could probably stream with 512mb of ram, and the lowest end cpu possible. As for operating system, windows 2003, or even windows 2000 if anybody still supports it.
I'd like to get something below $100/month. I think it might be doable with the hardware i'm asking for. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I'd just have to have a dedicated server to store the music i'll be streaming, since i'm looking to encode and stream from the same machine.
