yep, quick question, does pair.com give a separate username for each database or is it just a single user?
also, among all the great reviews about pair i'v read, someone said they have som issues with php/mysql sites? any comments on that?

Regarding the databases users i'm pretty sure they will allow you to have one per database, however the best way to confirm is contacting them.
I would think you can do it either way. if not let us know.... Certainly check with their staff as wbpro said
i signed up,
and yes. they set up a new username (sitename1, sitename2 etc) for each database. good enough for me. its a shame that theres no mysql in their control panel though,
hmmm. do they not use Cpanel?
How do you create the database and users for mysql then?
seems like they developed their own panel
oh ok. How do you like the panel they designed aside from mysql?
Can you install phpmyadmin for mysql? would they if you cannot?
hmm... i can tell that mediatemples controlpanel is 10 times prettier.... but this one WORKS and thats what matters to me right now. hehe. its ok, probably a little bit more basic feel than cpanel, but everything seems to be there.
i had to install myadmin myself by downloading it...... i think i saw somewhere in the KB that theres a install accessable by domain.com/phpmyadmin/ ... but since i want to move over all my stuff before i change dns settings, i cant use that one.
some providers give you that ability to access the new site by domain aliasing which would give you that ability.... not sure if this option is availble to them (unless you have a static IP)
Good Luck :)
yep, they actually provided me with an ip. thanks, although i already imported everything with my own install by now.
damn it feel good to be with a new host now since mt, the fast, reliable feeling is just what mt used to feel like when i signed up 1,5 years ago, hope things will stay this way and i dont get a message in a month or two : "we are now introducing pair grid server, migrate now or go to hell" ;)
LOL.... Best of luck.... Keep us posted though.Quote:
