Waste of money if you ask me, we've survived with metal detectors for some time now.
I think this could be of some interest (in order to make a puclic protest) for Christian organisations as well for some model agencies... :)
LOL model agencies... funny
Wonder if they are 2257 compliant.. ;)
I sure hope so...........
That's just... :eek2:
Wow, personally, give me the pat-down every time. That system is just too open to abuse, although I'd love to watch as one of the programmers has a "laugh" and broadcasts the images all around the airport.
Everyone will want to be working at the x-ray machines in airports now.
Looks effective ;)
The metal detectors were more then enough.
I think it was said before that the best version of this technology was demonstrated in Airplane 2
I think we'll see naked pics of some Hollywood hotties really soon... ;)
I went through one of those recently in Miami, it was fast and I did not have to get stopped for 45 minutes for a hand wand pat down strip search, I was quite pleased to get through TSA in less than 5 minutes personally!
What I am saying is, if they want to have two lines, one with this, with a 5-20 minute line, and one the old fashioned way where you have to put everything through and pray you don't get stopped for hours getting checked for EVERYTHING, I would take this machine route every time.
I always wonder though: How do these things affect health? I've worked in the past in a medical office. I remember the X-Ray techs telling me that (medical) X-Rays give patients several years of normal radiation in one flash.
If we start blasting X-Rays at people for security all over the place, whats going to happen? Cancers are already on the rise. I wonder what this will do to public health.
X-Rays have actually come a long ways, and a much safer than they have been in the past.
Can't wait for email spam advertising Paris Hilton's airport security check images and so on... :stickout:
guys... this is probably an alternative to a strip search
I'm sure if you walk past the metal detectors and they don't go off, you probably would not be put through this machine
I'm guessing this would be used as a last-phase scanning device just to make sure that whatever set off the alarm wasn't anything dangerous (after you remove your keys, cellphone, etc.)
also... I hate to break it to you, but a vast majority of the people at the airport you probably do NOT want to see naked
I doubt everyone will have to go thru this machine, like JYC says, with the lawsuits over strip searching and so forth, I am sure this is just a machine on the side that will allow the TSA to safely investigate suspicious persons....
I strongly suspect that suspicion could be based on a bra size. There're too big temptation for misuse here. Let alone privacy issues.Quote:

I am not american and, frankly, I don't give a damn about these machines, but they're simply ridiculous in my opinion. Total waste of taxpayers money.
It seems to me that in this day of age they could create a mediate program that operates between the scanner and the monitor. Such as it would filter out skin video and only show objects not made of flesh.
...not sure if I explained that the way I am thinking it...
I don't think this uses X-rays. It probably looks in the IR spectrum. There are actually people on beaches using digicams to take IR pics of women in swimsuits. You can "see" quite a bit in the IR spectrum.
Whats stupid about this machine is that their example shows the man with a gun. Obviously a metal detector would pick this up. Im sure these machines cost millions as opposed to the metal detectors which cost thousands.
Yeah a family member of mine just went through one of these recently in Miami (Tuesday) .. didn't know all this though.Quote:
