Should I suspend an account?
Hello.
My "terms of service" clearly states that any account that uses more than 10% of cpu/memory will be suspended and no longer hosted.
However, it also states that we will not provide refunds for those who violate our TOS.
I have not yet been able to refuse a refund as it is not in me to keep someone's money after I didn't give them hosting for the term they paid for...even if our TOS says otherwise.
Anyways, most often its just a badly assembled script that causes an account to go over the 10% usage. So my questions to you are:
1. Is it okay to request a client to find another host under such short notice if their account is using up too much cpu/memory?
2. If you feel it is okay to tell a client to find a new host, how exactly would you phrase it. I hate to come off as rude when honestly I don't mean to be so any recommendations would be appreciated.
3. Do you agree that because they weren't really doing anything illegal or wrong, they deserve a refund?
Basically I am just looking for everyone's opinions on this matter...everyone on this forum seems to be pretty experienced in the hosting field.
Thanks for your time! Any and all reponses are appreciated.

it depends, see untill he has gone against your TERMS OF SERVICE, since he is a crap ripping you each time, you cannot suspend his A/C.
you need an valid reason to say him, why would you suspend his A/C.

I agree with the other posters for the most part, but have a little advice. I have found through past experience that if I have a hard time following portions of my own TOS, it becomes difficult enforcing other areas of it. Unfortunately it seems in this business that nice guys DO finish last...just remember that it's not personal, it's business. I try to maintain a 'personal' relationship with clients, but it seems that way too often a mile is expected when an inch is given.
If there are areas of your TOS that you are not comfortable with, change them and stick to them. It will lead to a lot fewer headaches in the future.
Getting rid of a customer is easy, getting back may be impossible...
If all was required to do good business and achieving good results was getting rid of your customers - it would be very easy to do business...
